Lcc Boys New Coach
#1
I keep hearing that LCC can't find outside interest in the boys job so they are considering moving Dickie Adams up from the girls.* Has he had any boys experience?* I think he was an all american college player, but I can't remember where.* If so who would coach LCC girls?
#2
Coached freshmen basketball at Letcher under Danny Bates and JV boys under Eddie Whitaker at Whitesburg. Played his college basketball at Roanoke College.

Never Happen! Likes His Girls And Their Chances For Their Regional Championship The Next 4 Years.

and don't forget he is the volleyball coach. That would be confusing.

I saw his point guard Erica Meade shut down Breathitt's Noble in the 14 region all-stars. That looks like a big start to win the region.:flame:

That is reason enough to say that Dickie is going to stay put right where he is.

I mentioned this in Knott's thread, what about going after one of the younger up and coming coaches of the 14th. John Noble of Buckhorn and Danny Wright at Lee would be two good ones to go after. They've done a great job at their SMALL schools. Imagine what they could do with a bigger school.

Trent would be a good one to look at as well.
#12
If the Letcher people result to that then it will show pure desperation after a stupid move in getting rid of Justice.
#13
I disagree on the desperation. Both are good coaches and would do a good job at Letcher.
#14
Who is running open gym right now?

Coach Trent

I agree these guys would do a good job, but coach Trent has a few advantages over a new coach, he knows our players and everything they need to work on, he knows the style of ball they play best in, he knows each ones attitudes. Coach Trent should be hands down the man for the job and if Anna Craft cant see that she is blind!! These kids would run through **** and high water for him, GIVE TRENT THE JOB ALREADY THIS TEAM NEEDS A COACH AND TRENT IS THE COACH THE PLAYERS WANT!!!!!!!!!!!

I would rather have an assistant from a big time program like a South Laurel, PCC, Scott County than to have the two guys mentioned. When your at Buckhorn or Lee the only pressure you have is the pressure you put on yourself. IMO Noble has underachieved in the past couple of years with the talent he has had, and get this; he's got more coming. Danny Wright has wasted more talent than anyone in the region since he has been at Lee. Yes, he built some very good regular season teams but, when it comes to post season he has flopped.

Lee definitely has underachieved.

Is there any truth that the supt offered the job back to Justice and he turned her down in a rather impolite manner right in her office
#20
That is a rumor going around.
#21
Funny, so funny. Reckon pink slips would have been rescinded for spouses if he had accepted

Doesn't matter she would have just created teaching/administrative positions.
#24
It's been an odd situation, that's for sure. There haven't been many grumblings about who might be the new coach.
#25
Hire Whitaker and he'll bring his son and Letcher fans can reserve tickets to Rupp next year. JMO:Thumbs:
#26
Tell that to AC.

Coaching hires are made for the long term usually. The day we let current players start selecting coaches would be a very bad situation. Most teams who lose a coach want current assistants to be named head coach because they don't have to prove anything to the new coach. Look for J.D. Strange from Pineville to be named head coach or Jeff Jackson from Lincoln County if Strange does not take it.

Don't understand what they are waiting for. Do it AC hire the man already.

Jeff Jackson turned the job down a long time ago!
