J'town guard Aaron Cosby to prep school
#1
Jeffersontown guard Aaron Cosby has decided to take his game to prep school. The 6-foot-2 guard will be playing next season for Northfield Mount Hermon School in Massachusetts. Cosby, who averaged 14.2 points per game this past season, will also be reclassifying to the class on 2011.

"This is a great opportunity for me," Cosby said. "I will be challenged in the classroom and will be with some of the brightest students in country. On the court, we will play a national schedule and against the best competition in the country in the New England Prep School Athletic Conference. This move will bring out the best in me on the court, in the classroom and will make me a more mature, well-rounded person."

This summer Cosby will be playing for AAU ball for Tean Loyalty 17U's, coached by Terrance Moorman.

Cosby is being recruited by several colleges. He holds scholarship offers from Indiana, Minnesota, Oklahoma State, Butler, Western Kentucky and Dayton.

He needs more time to get stronger and work more on his game.

Cosby will still be playing at J'town this coming season. It will be after his senior season that he will attend prep school. Atleast that's what I took from the article and the way it sounds.

Why would he play there after his senior season? He would be out of school then... He goes to college after his senior season not another high school

Most kids go to prep school after their senior year, at least that is what I thought. I could be wrong!! Good luck to him and his future!!

Uh see John Wall. He was a 5th year senior this past season at a prep school. A lot of kids who can't qualify, or who feel the need to get another year of practicing in will take the prep school route.

Colleges will sometimes request that kids take a year of prep school as well so they can come in with a different class. Prep schools generally play tougher schedules as well which helps round out that individual both on the court with competition, and in the classroom with the help and one on one attention they receive with their academics.

Not A LOT of kids do it, but it isn't uncommon for a kid to attend prep school if they have trouble qualifying.
