I just read in the Hazard Herald that Tate Cox was the 14th Region Player of the Year and Noble from Buckhorn was Coach of the Year in the 14th. I was thinking it was Andy Blank and Honeycutt. What's up with that?

Same here. I thought I seen that Andy Blank was the POY and Coach Honeycutt was COY. I'd like to know for sure.

Andy Blank played in the All-Star game representing that Region. I watched him play. This is a mistake by the media. The Region POY is always a senior.

Was it the Herald's own selection? Or the official selection?

I think that the listings in the Hazard paper are from the 14th Region Coaches' Association. The other awards were from the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches.

The Kentucky High School Coaches Association does a POY and COY that plays in an East/West Senior game in Lexington and are presented at the state tournament......what you read in the Hazard Herald was the 14th Region Coaches Associations POY and COY which is open to all players (not just seniors)......not all coaches are members of both......
