I saw in the Courier-Journal yesterday, 04-13-2k9, a list of players that are considered to be the top player's in the state , with their AAU team they are playing for this year. I saw only two players listed from Eastern Ky Timmy Knipp from Elliott Co and a kid from Rose Hill, I believe his last name is Terry. Is Elisha Justice playing AAU this year just curious?

I've heard Elisha is hitting the big time AAU circuit this year.

That was why I asked, maybe someone would know who he was playing for. Jody Demling didn't have him listed at all. Making 1st team all-state should put you in the catagory of one of the elite players in Ky.

Is coach cal looking at justice?

Honestly, people talked of Elisha going to UK, and I think he would work even better under Cal's system than Gillispies because under Gillispie, the team lacking a scoring PG killed them, but Cal's system calls for a unselfish PG who can get the ball around, now I know, Rose and Evans scored bundles under Cal, but they didn't have to, and from what I've seen over the past few years, Elisha can handle the ball with the best of them and rarely turns it over. Elisha make think even more about going to Kentucky now with Cal here. It may not be on scholarship, but he can work his way up to being on scholarship.

Is my understanding that Justice will play for the DS All Stars. Interesting tidbit, it is also my understanding that the coach of that team will be friend and former rival Ethan Faulkner.

Very, very, very, very doubtful. Not trying to be harsh just my honest opinion. If Coach Calipari is looking at him then good for EJ.
That is interesting about Ethan.

Who else is playing for this team?

Callipari has already told one Gillispie recruit, Villiarino, out of Texas he wanted his point guard's at least 6' 4" tall. The kid then de-commited and opened his recruitment back up.

For this year I.....Sorry but I don't know. I have heard Justice. Last year they had, The Faulkner twins and Ferguson, Richie Phares, Andy Donavon, ...........Apologies to some kids, names are on the tip of my tongue... Also, they had a kid from Pike Co. Meyer? They were one of only 2 teams to beat Grassroots Canada last AAU season.

The kid Mike Terry from Rose Hill, he is a big time talent, will more than likely play high major division 1. His sister plays at Louisville now. He is 6'7 shooting guard or small forward.

IMO Elisha is better than Landon Slone and Slone walked on. I know that the coaches have changed. That will make a big difference but, I don't think coach Cal has watched him play yet. IMO he will be very impressed.

What is Slone doing next season??? That will tell you a lot about whether or not Coach Cal will look at him or not.

Slone got the boot, I believe. But, still Elisha can play with the best in High School right now. I would hope Coach Cal looks at him and notices how tough he really is.

We don't need sarcasm from ya. Just say yes or no, and have some respect for these mountain kids. If not UK I thought that Florida at one time was looking at him. All I know is last year he was a d-1 prospect. I was just wondering has he gotten better this year from last year, and if the answer is yes then who all is looking at him?

i am sure cal will check elisha out as a favor to the state,, but there is 0 chance he gives him a scholly. a walk on opportunity? maybe but no way a scholly. in cal's ddmo,, he will every year get the top 1-4 pg's in the nation to run that set. that is not a knock on elisha,, just the hard facts. look for him to go to either arkansas at best or marshall.

Justice is being recruited by Marshall, EKU, Florida, and Arkansas. Pel has made a couple of trips to see him. would say that may be where he ends up at.

UK won't be looking at Elisha. Elisha is an amazing PG, but it takes the best to be a PG under Calipari. Elisha, from the visits to see him, will more than likely end up at Arkansas.

reason i had said arkansas,, as that is what i am hearing at the moment. have been for a while now. but you are right,,,, like i said earlier,, there is 0 chance of him being at uk. cal can get the best of the best,, and i have no problem with that.

YOU ARE MAKING STUFF UP.....ethan is helping this year, he was a player for derek smith last year, and robert vanhoose has coached the derek smith 17u east team for the past 5 or 6 years, and still does right now, go to a tournament or ask chris vance the director of the program who coaches his 17s! but yeah i had the oppurtunity to see barnhill play and he could be a stud in the 16th

From my understanding, Pelphrey's dad came to watch him at a couple of games this season. That may or may not have happened because I don't know what Pelphrey's dad looks like. Either way, I do know for a fact that Pelphrey has expressed some interest in Elisha.
