Pirates will be ready for the Cards......No doubt in my mind. Belfry is well experianced and will not overlook anyone. I dont think a touchdown on the 2 yard line will be the game winner this time around Cards....:Shaking: hh:
Our fans don't play the game anyway, last time I checked it was the players on the field that did that.
I have alot of respect for Shawn, I graduated with him from Belfry, I am glad to see that he has brought the Sheldon Clark program back to where it is now. But Belfry is a team on a mission right now and we're playing with so much heart, soul and determination.

can u smeeelllll what the CARDS are cookin.......[ a district championship]

This game could get interesting. I think that if the Cards can jump ahead two scores quick into the game then we might have us a real game.

Sheldon Clark will do what they always try to do against Belfry to try to maximize posessions: RUN THE CLOCK.
Expect the Cards to play stall ball and keep it on the ground on offense eating every second possible off the playclock... defensively SC will try to keep everything in front of them and take away the big play by the Pirates. Force the Pirates to beat them with long time consuming drives and maximize the chance of a Belfry fumble.
Simply put:
Belfry is a superior team in almost every aspect except strength. The Pirates will finally be playing a team who may be able to compete in the trenches with them. BUT, I don't see the Cards doing much damage offensively against a solid Pirate defense.
Belfry protects the ball and don't make stupid penalties on offense:
Belfry 42
SC 6
Belfry turns it over more than twice and/or commits penalites:
Belfry 21
SC 14

you wouldn't happen to be talking about the 98 regional championship game at vipperman stadium when mo spradlin took the ball over left guard :yesno: to score the game winning 2 point conversion are ya?

Belfry .. by however much Haywood wants
10-12-2005, 04:07 PM
belfry is the best till someone beats them
they humiliated prestonsburg on their home field but i understand pburg is down somewhat this year but it is still pburg
sheldon clark is much improved behind a bigger faster more moblie o and d line that are playing more as a unit than in previous years
they are young in the backfield but make no mistake about it adam dials is a beast he is just a sophmore but he runs with the tenasity(not sure on spelling) and heart that i haven't seen since the days of moe spradlin and ben delong.
they have a tough freshman fullback in ryan kelly also a state champion wrestler that is picking up the system a little more every week
and what can i say about the qb damon hensley he has a good arm and plays smart and runs the o better than anyone at his age i have ever seen
with the subtraction of about 60 pounds and added speed last years tight end daniel harless has been split out along with timmy goble to give the cards 2 sets of sure hands on the edge.
the defense is big fast strong smart and plays with emotion and desire they have to make sure that they wrap up at the line because the maynard and may kids from belfry are very fast through the hole.
the belfry pburg game would have been a little less lopsided if pburg would have hit and wrapped up at the line. the pburg d made contact at the line countless times but as good backs do they ran straight through the arm tackles.
they are a typical belfry backfield run right at ya
emotions will be high as it is belfry's homecoming but make no mistake about it sc knows that they have been sheduled for homecoming and they will come to play
good luck to the teams (but i am pulling for sc)

Well this game is a tricky one. The Cardinals are in a really good spot. They have nothing to lose and a District Championship to gain. Belfry on the other hand has everything to lose. That does not mean I think the pressure will get to Belfry. I'd say Haywood has seen his fair share and so has this Belfry team, but I'm saying that SC will not have the pressure on their shoulders they have had in the past (Valley & P'burg).
I think the game is Belfry's to lose, but I know Hager will have a few tricks up his sleeve and I'm gonna go with my boys from Inez over the boys from Pond Creek. I think if they both played perfect games Belfry would win, but I have never seen a perfect game and doubt to see one friday.
Sheldon Clark: 22
Belfry: 21

They used to be what you can call a powerhouse team I guess.. But as of late I wouldn't think of them as that.. They still have some more rebuilding to do before they get back to where they were.. With that said.. Belfry by 3 tds..
