Wow! This is a big win for Paintsville, this was Beechwood's first loss on the season and they are generally a great program. Congrats Paintsville! Anybody have any stats from this game?

Did Beechwood just play JV players, it was said 6 or 7 didn't make the trip.

It was listed as a varsity game, i dont understand why they wouldnt bring their varsity team. Unless you are just trying to take away from their win?

Paintsville's record is 6-2. Their two losses were by a combined total of 3 runs.
Beechwood is a very good team and this was a BIG win for the Tigers.
And as for kdrn's comment about just playing JV players. I doubt anyone has 3 kids on their JV throwing in the 80s.
Smith, Snyder and Larrimore pitched very well for Beechwood this weekend.
Congrats Tigers! On what I feel was a Very BIG win for your team. Keep working hard.

I will find out about the Beechwood squad today and make a post about what players they brought. I do know that their ace AJ Smith is out. But regardless, Beechwood is an extremely good program. Paintsville beat a very good team, so all credit to them and a very nice win. Congrats.

Sorry Stardust. You're wrong. AJ was there and pitched against Whitefield.
Guys just admit it. Paintsville got a BIG win against a good team.
Beechwood players that were there.
Bertke, Bertke, Kremer, Larrimore, Colosimo, Colosimo, Snyder, Brilz, Hyde, Hyde, Johnson, Smith, Martin, Gohs, Youtsey. They were missing a couple of their younger players though.

Congrats Tigers. Did Lyons pitch this one?

Yep, just found out about AJ tonight when I spoke to Coach. Didn't realize he came out of the Boot on Wednesday. Sounds like the only game they started their regular line-up was the Whitefield game, which AJ pitched. Took a lot of Frosh. AJ did not play the field the during any other game.
Wrong about Youtsey though, he had a Dive meet this weekend. They had 15 on the trip, 6 of which were Frosh. Coach played a different lineup in each game.
In this game, Sophomore CJ Bertke played 1B, where he has minimal experience. It was a great learning experience for him.

No, Jackson pitched 4, Dustin Vanhoose pitched 3 batters, then Vialpando came in and got the save with 3 innings.

Wrong again. Heard Youtsey's name announced EVERY game. Even saw the lineup cards. Trust me, every name I wrote down...was at the games and played.

So the coach was wrong????

Honestly don't know what was in the book, but just got confirmed on a text that Justin was in Ft. Lauderdale for National YMCA dive competition. His sport is diving, #3 in the State this year. Missed this past weeks games while he was at Miami Univeristy practicing for this weekend.

YES! Held the lineup card in my hand and was sitting next to the announcer when he said the name. I asked him "Like the game?" and he replied "That is how the coaches told me to pronounce it."
I wouldn't just lie about a kid I don't even know. But, I watched him play with my own eyes and heard and read his name for 3 games.

Are there 2 Youtseys?
04-06-2009, 02:10 AM
Not calling you a liar, so no need for you to take it personal. I'm getting from the coach, and a parent, so I can't answer for who you were being told the player was.

Ridge Runner Wrote:Are there 2 Youtseys?
Nope, only Justin. Like I said, I can't answer for who the player was, what did he look like? What postions did he play and how was he R or L handed? That would give me a clue as to who it was. I know the kid very well.
04-06-2009, 02:15 AM
Not, being defensive. Just know what I saw and heard. He wasn't left handed. Because I don't recall one lefty for them.

Justin is appox. 5-4, throws Left, Bats right, plays Left-Field and Pitches. You would be correct, there are no other Lefties for the Beechwood squad.
Like I said, I'm just going on the word of others, can't dispute you because I was not there. Obviously you had a first hand seat, but something seems amiss.
04-06-2009, 02:22 AM
Well, sounds to me that they played an illegal player.

I doubt that somebody is just really wrong here and nobody is gonna admit it, haha!
