Personally, I think if Justin is let go, It is a mistake, He's a great guy and all of the player's like him. He an awesome person also. So Overrated say's if Justin Amburgey isn't at KCC next season I hope Perry Central or Hazard goes to Rupp, Not just because it'd be Bandwagon!

They will hire one of them, but if they don't get anyone with any credentials, good ole Justin will be right back on the sidelines. So only time will tell, but it will be opened up for looks.
the word from the state tourney is that this is the dumbest statement ever. Knott county is not getting any of those coaches, and amburgey is gone. you don't tell a coach "HEY YOU CAN COACH IF WE CAN'T FIND SOMEONE BETTER THAN YOU, BUT YOU'RE OUR 8TH BACKUP PLAN" seriously you have got to be kidding me, cavanaugh trent will be there, they will add a few more assisstants lets get real:please:

Well when the new assistants from perry and hazard arrive at Kcc this yr along with the 9 other ones already existing I look for the pats to put up a real threat with the returning players who have home court adavantage in the new colesium I heard that should be under construction over the summer. The sooner the coaches coach in their new state of the art colesium and the sooner the players play the better the season will be next yr for our pats! Go pats!!!!!!!! irateSho irateSho Oh and I forgot to mention the outstanding fan base and parent support from our knott county faithfuls! Good luck PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!!

Anybody know anything new? Whats the hold up?
04-02-2009, 05:25 PM
If he is let go, then I hope that all of the boys leave and come to Hazard. They should because the program will be a mess. There will be lots of talent and no one to coach but parents on the bench. Only Amburgey had the ties to keep the team together.

KCC has turned into a joke, untelling who will coach next season, probably who will ever play who the super wants them to!

JBS- PERIOD It is the same situation that happened there last year....

So is John Kitchen not an option for this job anymore?
04-03-2009, 12:33 PM
Kitchen has no shot, no HEAD Coaching experience. That is a must with this team coming back. I heard if they don't hire him at Pike Central, they said long time coach from Allen Central Johnny Martin was interested. He always done a great job and lives for basketball. His teams always played well when he had some players.
04-03-2009, 12:41 PM
Why was Martin removed from the coaching and AD position at Allen Central?????
04-03-2009, 01:22 PM
Kinda like Gillispie, they wanted to go in another DIRECTION with their program. They hadn't had any players for a while and wanted a new start. He was a good coach, just was his time to get out and away from Allen Central.

That is a tactful way of stating it. If he goes to Knott County it won't be a good situation.

Why is it a joke, just because they got rid of the coach. Schools do that kind of thing all the time. This is nothing like the situatiion at JBS either, they left over there because of the head master being a pervert with the players moms. I don't know why they want to get rid of Justin, we didn't win any tournaments but we still had the best record that we've had in a long time. Chris Amburgey's girls team was no where as good and they are still keeping him, along with the football teams coach. Don't make no sense to me but there it is in black and white. I don't believe they will hire anyone who doesn't have coaching experience either, so that rules out the Trent guy. And she don't like B.B. enough to give him the job.

That's very true. Whoever is doing the hiring and firing is not doing a good job with the other sports coaching then.

yOu are apparently VERY close to the program. I totally agree with everything that you say except for the statement in bold. I have heard from TOO many people that the JBS boys and especially their parents want rid of Amburgey. He desrves another shot at the team. Trent and King definitely don't need this kind of talent in their hands. By the way, he Amburgey leaves, I see the team falling apart. Sad but true. I have heard WAY too much...

What have you heard?

i talked to one of the coaches under justin the other day and he said thats just an rumor going around cause were he didnt win in the tournment but justin will remain the coach for the knott co patriots
04-04-2009, 02:18 AM
I heard directly from one of the coaches metioned that Justin will not be back at Knott next season and "seemed confident" he could have the job if he wanted it, but it would come down to money........ He could be blowing smoke up my arse though.....

IMHO, I think Justin should be back to coach this team at least one more year. I just really don't see why they would let him go, but I don't know a thing about the KCC program and how things are run there. Good luck!

Yes you are right I am very close to the program and what you say has some truth, but remember, you hear alot of things that just are not true. But you never know what will happen or who is pulling the strings and right now, the strings are being yanked.

Justin will be taking over as the New Knott County Athletic Director over all the grade schools and the high school. This will be less stress on him and he will still be around basketball. He will make more money and be a heck of a lot happier from what I hear. The new coach will be a pretty good one with a lot of experience, but they won't announce who it is and will wait till June to get things rolling on everything.

i head that he was gone.
