Tattoos and Piercings

My nerves were going crazy when I was in the car on the way to get mine and then as I walked in and saw the guy I told him that I wanted a tattoo and gave him the picture of it and stuff. I wasn't too afraid of it but I have it set in my mind that it would be reallllly painful but when they started it, it was a piece of cake from there on out. It is not as bad as people think it will be and mine didn't hurt like everyone else who had one said it would. Maybe I have a higher pain tolerance but I would do it over and over and over again if I just had the money.

Another thing is the location of the tattoo aswell. The stomach, inside arms, neck, and side are some of the most tender spots to get a tat. I got mine...one between my shoulder blades at the bottom of my neck that goes across my spine and the other on my right arm/shoulder

I was thinking of getting one near my hip bone and one of my friends had hers done that and it hurt alot. The underarm part hurts on an armband from what I hear. I would think that the base of your spine with too, either on your neck or your lower back.
Yours sounds painful JKwon.
Mine wasn't bad at all, it's near my right shoulderblade.

I heard that if it's on a bone it'll hurt worse too...I could be wrong...I use to want on on my lower back but now I'm thinking more of shoulder blade or something...

Yea...that's what I was told and I kinda figured it would...I'm leaning more towards shoulder blade than lower back though...so hopefully it won't hurt too bad when I ever go and get one done...

its not bad at all tribe, i never had any trouble with the underarm part of mine, i think it really comes down to an individuals tolerance for pain and the ability to just focus on something else.......man i want another one bad lol

I'll probably cry or something if I ever get one...lol not really but I HATE needles...I hate getting shots or even my finger poked at the doctors office....it hurts! lol...so as far as tolerance for pain goes...I won't do good at all! But then again I had a 14 gauge needle stuck through my belly button so...maybe it won't be that bad...

You can't feel the needle, you feel a buzzing and a burning/ripping sensation but if you put your mind on other things and talk to people during and look at the walls and stuff then your mind doesn't sit and concentrate on the pain. Your mind will built it up to be alot greater than what it really is.

I would never get an armband tattoo but I have talked to people and they say that the underarm part of their armband hurt the worse out of any other spot.

While I was sitting and getting my tattoo, I was looking at the wall and the flash art picking out my next one and talking to a friend and my mom and stuff. It was all good, the artist was really friendly and talked to me about everything under the sun. Not so much pain after you get your mind in other places.

Where did you get yours done? I got my belly button done at Southern Steel before it moved to Pikeville and the guy had a good ol' conversation with my mom...it was funny...my mom was like "Kim have you seen how big this needle is...look at that" she made me look at it... I was like "Mom, I was okay until you made me look...thankx!" I started shaking really bad then...

It comes down to a tolerance of pain and how much needle the artist decides to use.. some of the dudes like to inflict pain.. so they can make it hurt.. When i got my first one the dude was like ok.. i'm goin to make this hurt.. and when he got on the inside of my arm, i believed him.. But when i went and got my stars on the back of my arms.. the dude was pretty easy goin.. and it didn't hurt at all.. I actually almost fell asleep. because it was quiet in there.. and all i coudl hear was that little buzzing noise..

Near the bone hurts and inexperienced artists are more likely to hit them and stuff and that causes more pain. I cannot WAIT until I get my new ones! All this talk about them makes it that much harder to wait.

LoL I know what you mean tribe...I have to wait until at least my birthday because my mom won't sign for it...it was all I could do to talk her into letting me get my belly button pierced...

I had to present an actual 'case' to my parents in a family court setup with the pros and cons of getting a tattoo, why I was responsible enough, and then I had to go on vacation and be a perfect little angel. It was rough but it worked. Now I just tell them that I am doing something and don't really ask.

LoL... that's funny... when I go to college I'm getting one...if I go away it won't be a problem at all but if I stay here and go to pcc it'll be a little harder but as long as I have on a t-shirt or something....after I get it they can't do nothing... lol....they want me to wait til I turn 21

Exactly.
I got mom to sign for mine.
When I was going to stretch my ears I called and told my mom that I was going to and didn't really asked.
Now I just tell her that I plan on getting 2 tattoos as soon as I can.

Piercing and tatoos arent my bag, baby! I dont really like needles that much either. Plus I just dont like them and I hear horror stories about what tatoos look like on older people when there skin gets old and rinkly ewww not a pretty site, if you like them cool but that is just me

Most people get them on their backs or even lower belly/hip...when you have clothes on you can't see them....I'm getting one sometimes... it'll be on my shoulder blade...not sure on right or left yet but you can bet when I get old that I won't be running around in a bikini or a tank top...so you won't be able to see it.

i am mostly useing my personality to help me to decide.
like The next one is a symbol standing for headstrong, and the one after that will stand for my luck. but i have googled it a couple of times.

oh yeah and the one on my arm i believe i fought some one to redo it for me.

J.R. can probably fix it. The guy is covered in tattoos and he does some good work himself. I've saw his work. I thought about getting him to do my nautical star for me. I can get you his number, I know his wife and son personally. He does good work at a VERY low price. Worth looking into.

I've got one tattoo and no piercings. It's a celtic cross with my name around the top of it. im goin to get another of a tribal sun with my last name around it on my left shoulder but i hav to wait til i get the money.im gettin it off jr since hes like 2 feet away from my house and cheap.

no tattoo. both ears pierced twice and my cartilage on one ear. I have my belly button pierced. i used to have my tongue pierced and i used to have my lip pierced but my backward conservative parents made me take them out.

It always sucks to see someone with an awesome piercing and then their parents make them take the out. My friend had to take out his lip, one had to take our her tongue piercings, etc.

I am thinking about getting an industrial done in my cartlige soon.
