Valley needs to jump on them early to limit a window for central to keep the game close. IF Valley can get the lead to swell early I think the game is down. JUst keep the D hard and heavy boys.

Sometimes Shelby Valley misses free throws and still wins...

I will post this and I am sure it will be blasted by the Pike Co folk, but here goes. I am a JC and will stay with them. SV has a very sound fundamental team that plays well togather and is the favorite hands down. I still say JC is the most athletic team in the region and has the horses to play with SV. We have yet to see a consistant game from JC. If everyone plays hard and contributes they have a great shot. I would put a saddle on Justice and ride him all game long and make him earn every breath, he is the key with SV. He is a great player and with him off his game SV is a very beatable team. I think if the JC players have read half this junk on this site alone, they should be ready for this one. JC, you just have to beat this bunch by one point tommorow afternoon one time.
It looks like SV already has the engraver making not only the Region trophy but the State Trophy. Guys you still have games to play! I know the Pike Co crowd and SV crowd will tell me where I am wrong with 20 posts but this is my opinion.

This is the game that everyone has wanted to see in the 15th Regional Tournament. I agree with most that the Eagles will give Valley that best game but I do not think it will be under a 15-point victory for the Wildcats. JC has no one to slow down Justice and no one to contend with Deven Adams in the paint.
My prediction looks like this..
Shelby Valley - 79
Johnson Central - 57
Good luck to both teams!

I'm feeling the number 24 for some reason...so I'm going with Valley by 24.

SV goes 8 deep in their rotation.
Against Belfry they had 2 8th graders in the game, do you consider them part of the starting 5?

Actually it was a freshman and a 7th grader.

Keep lumping all the SV fans into one basket! I'd venture to say if we lump all the fans of any team (yes even JC) into one basket, it wouldn't look too pretty. Every fan base has people who are overzealous in their posts (see JC in the football forum), but the fans who are realistic in their expectations shouldn't be lumped in with them. As a fan of SV for 15+ years, I know they can be beat on a given night and nothing will be handed to them. If they make it out of region, it will be a major accomplishment to get their first ever win in the state tournament.
A lot of the people on here making predictions are not even part of the "Pike County crowd". Ask Coach Booher and the players if they already have this game won. I'd say their humble responses might shock you a little.

You also just posted his record and accomplishments but yet you say they are not succeeding ??? Because of people like me ??? Now please get on topic here. I wished the team luck as well as coach m in an earlier post, gave congratulations to them also for there efforts and wished them well against Valley, but yet I am a bad person ???? Go Eagles and coach m.
I am pretty sure that this statement by you was not supportive for the team or Coach M as you call him. "This will not be the matchup that some have been waiting for. SV will probably have this won by the half",
Thanks for your support.

I do think JC has had alot of obstacles to overcome this year, some on the court and some off. I think they should be commended for that, especially playing and trying to focus on friends lost but I can't see a "Hoosiers" happening in this game. Shelby Valley was a Regional contender last year and they have gained a player or two from other schools for this season that fill in some weak spots from last year. Good luck to both teams.

I have seen SV play once this year. I agree, they are a very good high school team. This will no doubt be the toughest team JC has had to face this year.
Can JC win this? I don't know. I do know anything is possible and I have faith in this group of young men. Whatever happens, win or lose just have fun doing it. Leave it all on the court tomorrow Eagles.

I promise they're was nothing negative intended. Shelby Valley is and always has been known as a great outside shooting team. With some help on the boards they have a great combination.

yea that makes alot of sense saying that valley beat the number 1 team in the state at the time and missing 11 straight free throws at the end. really good point there bud.

SV lost Jacob Bryant and Jonah Justice from last year's team, but got Taylor Newsome back from the knee injury and gained Deven Adams from Pikeville. Also, there has been a big improvement in the game of some of the other returning players...

that is right jc didn't impress me at all valley wii win by how ever many they want to
03-07-2009, 01:46 AM
I have said all year if any team has a chance it is JC. But SV is no doubt the best team... I believe SV should have chosen to play this JC team earlier. They can score inside and out, but can not compare to the defense of SV. It would be just maybe the biggest upset ever in the 15th, but that is why we talk about, read about, listen to, and go to the games. Good luck to both..
03-07-2009, 01:49 AM
Shelby Valley could win this one by big numbers, but I think the Eagles keep it close till the 4th Q, then SV pulls away by 12.
03-07-2009, 02:58 AM
I think it's crazy to say, but is true. Most on here agree that throughout most of the year it has been SV # 1 and JC # 2 in the region, but we say that a JC win would be one of the biggest upsets in the history of the 15th.
Unbelievable statement, but SV is that good!
Here is hoping for the UPSET of the MTNS!! Go Eagles!
