Connecticut, which wrapped up an unbeaten 30-0 season with a win at Rutgers on Monday, collected all 31 first-place votes and 775 total points. That easily outdistanced No. 2 Stanford (24-4) and No. 3 Oklahoma (25-3).
UConn and Stanford were 1-2 in the preseason rankings. UConn had 30 of the 31 first-place votes in the preseason poll.
The Huskies were No. 1 in every poll this season.
Maryland (25-4) moved to No. 4 in the final regular-season rankings, while Auburn (27-2) climbed a spot to No. 5.
California, last week's No. 4 team, slipped all the way to ninth after losing at UCLA. That allowed No. 6 Baylor (23-4), No. 7 Louisville (27-3) and No. 8 Texas A&M (22-5) to climb one spot each.
Duke (24-4) is 10th
