Elliott Co. 89 - Ballard 75
#1
Thoughts?
#2
Honestly it was my first time seeing Ballard and I wasn't very impressed. They pulled to within 8 in the 3rd but other than that Elliott was in control the whole time. Surely they can't be one of the best 5 or 6 teams in the state?
#3
The game wasn't as close as the score. Jonathon Ferguson becomes the ALL TIME leading scorer in the 16th Region tonight! I said earlier I thought T Knipp would come to play and he did. Go Lions!

Ballard is for sure one of the top 5 or 6 teams in the state. Maybe you just seen them get outmatched.

The state may also be weaker than I thought, which would be fine with me. I knew where Elliott County stood before tonight...

I don't think the state is weak.......I just think there are two serious contenders this year in eastern Ky! After this week though, I think one just served notice to the rest of the state.
#7
If one served notice then shouldn't that serve notice for both teams by default? I think Elliott and Valley are two of the top 4 teams in the state.
#8
Elliott just won alot easier than I expected against a supposed state title contender.

No. Only one manned up and played two top ten teams in the state this week!

And only one holds a win against the other and has a state title under their belt. :flame:

It was a good week for Elliott.

One team got to add games to their schedule due to a early departure from the All A state, the other had to drop games. But congrats to EC on the win, I thought it might have been closer than the final score showed. Anyone got stats like scores by quarters?
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It is the size of the fight in the dog.

But the other knocked off the at the time, number 1 team in the state.

Very impressive showing by Elliott County.
#14
It was about a 15 point cruise the whole way.

Nice try! This was a make up for a game against Greenup Co. that got snowed out! Maybe one day your ADOPTED team will schedule a game like this.Big Grin

And outside of that have little to hang their hats on! If both make it to Rupp and win their first round games..............Perhaps we can make a deal.
#17
Either way... We can't have any more games due to winning championships and such.

Wasn't aware that the KHSAA cut out make up games in the event of a Single A (but AA in other sports) title????????????????????

That makes no sense. We can't add any games, we had to cut two of them. So even if we had a make up game we probably would have just cut it anyway.

Good game Elliott. Can we get back on topic?
#20
Two impressive wins this week by EC against top ranked teams.

Don't turn this into a Elliott County / Shelby Valley shouting match. Its getting very old. This thread is about Elliott County and Ballard. If it continues to go off course it will be closed.

That would be a shame considering this was probably the top game in the state this weekend.

I talked to one of the dads for Ballard he thought we just beat them and was wondering how in the world we lost in the all a state?

The boys didn't show up at the all A. The loss was good for them and will pay dividends!
#26
Congrats Elliott!!
#27
Strike two.
#28
Good win Elliot!
#29
I missed this pick.

Congrats to Ferguson on becoming the all-time leading scorer in the 16th region and to Elliott County on the win!

Great win by Elliott! Also, congratulations to Ferguson, quite an accomplishment.

Elliott has done what many have criticized them not doing. They played a couple of the better teams in the state this week and beat them without a struggle.

Elliott is legit. Congrats boys.
