I was wondering on everyone's thought's about what he needs to do or keep doing to attract the attention of major D-1 schools.

I'll start by saying that he needs to find a way to showcase his 3-point range without disrupting the cohesion of the team. College coaches already see him as someone who could run their team from the point, but they need to know that he can shoot from the perimeter with some range. Some 30-40 point games would be a big boost, but that's going to be hard because of the style and well-rounded team that he's on at SV.

I doubt you ever see a game close to 40 points from Elisha. He realizes that when the entire team is involved, they are a great team, there's no need to try and fix what isn't broken. If college coaches want him, they'll have to take what they see, which is a great defender, leader, and offensive force.

I was extremely impressed with this young man at the state All A. Great ball handler, passer, and cool under pressure. I'm not sure he's major D-1 material or not (his size may be an issue), but he's definitely mid-major in my opinion.

I thought that he was being looked at by schools such as Florida. If those schools think he is good enough for D-1, then why would we question it?

IMO he is a very good player. But I think that his height will hurt him.

Listen, if I had to choose between a 6'3 average talent player or a 5'11 great talent, I would take the great talent every time.

Elisha is a great ball handler who has a nice shot.

IMO he does not need to show he can shoot the 3 on a regular basis because a lot of PG's do not shoot a ton of 3's.

As long as he doesn't suffer any sort of major injury he will be D-1. I wish him nothing but the best!

Hardly anyone on this site thought Landon would see much playign time at UK. Heck, he's on the floor his freshman year, and BCG has said it was because of his D, we all know that Elisha is a better player than Landon, and a WAY better defender, so why wouldn't Elisha see much playing time?

Heart can take over for height. Some kids have the "it" factor that you just can't put on a stat sheet, and he has it. KY better not lose another good one to an out-of-state school yet again.

I have a feeling they're going to. Pelphrey has supposedly made a push for Elisha, and BCG hasn't really done much. I thought BCG was supposed to visit every high school in the state, one of the states best Juniors is going basically unnoticed by BCG, other than the Elite Camp and some open gym.

I've said it a few times on here, I just graduated from Valley last year, I saw the boy every day in the halls, I'm close to 6'1, 6'0 and 7/8 to be exact, and Elisha wasn't much shorter than me.

How far Shelby Valley advances in the State Tournament this year will

publicize Elisha Justice as well. If they should happen to go to the Elilte 8 or

16, coaches might ask who was the point guard. He could use publicity, I think

he is ready to play already and could do better at point guard than the present

crew at UK. Just my opinion.

I was take the comparison to Downey. Elisha is a fast and good defender just like Downey.

If UK doesn't offer then I expect him to goto Arkansas or Marshall.

He can get up there and put the ball in, it isn't pretty and he can't do it consistently in a game, but he does have some hops.

I think you are right--his heart would probably be with UK, but it will probably end up being something like Arkansas or Marshall. Wherever he ends up, he will be a coaches' dream. He listens, works harder than anyone, and loves the game of basketball. To the person who described him as having the "it" factor, I think that is the best way to describe him. He just has something that makes him a special player and his height will never be an obstacle. He has heard it his entire life and he has always excelled in spite of it.

I agree a lot of players height is fibbed about. He needs to grow about 4-5 inches if he doesn't there will be very little chance going major D-1. I wish him well any chance to play at any level would be an honor.

Transfered to UK and set school records in single game assist, single season 3 point field goals, consecutive free throws made. He was also All-SEC in 93 & 94 seasons and was the Regional Most Outstanding Player 1993 NCAA Tourny. Travis was SEC Tourny MVP in 93 & 94 and was Academic All-SEC all 3 years at UK.

I thought with the ones who say that size is Elisha's problem getting to D1 must have fogotten about Mr. Ford. Travis was not as big as Elisha yet look what he accomplished. Heart, Desire and Talent is what it takes and Elisha has it all.

Yep, and Jai is a proven D-1 guard.

yeah, it showed him have a fast break one handed dunk in a game on wymt a few weeks ago. Didn't bring down the goal or anything, but it was a dunk in a game by a point guard, by george.

Just wondering, how many times in a major D-1 game are the point guards expected to drive the lane and dunk on someone? I have personally seen EJ lay the ball over the rim, pull it down to make it look like a dunk, and I have seen him make a clean dunk without pulling the rim down. I just dont think dunking are a normal requirement for a point guard.
