Elisha Justice surpasses 1,000 point mark
#1
In the excitement of winning the All "A" state it has been overlooked that Elisha surpassed the 1,000 career point mark while in Richmond (according to the LHL). Congrats to Elisha, and if he stays healthy he should surpass Shannon Akers next season to become the schools all time leading scorer...

COngrats EJ, very very great player

Congrats Elisha. I do have a question for the SV fans though. Elisha has been starting for 4 years and is just now surpassing the 1,000 point mark. If he stays healthy and will pass Shannon Akers for all-time leading scorer, what is the record?

Congrats EJ

EJ does more then just shoot. He is all over the place. But im not real sure on Akers score. I'll find out right now tho

I know he does more than shoot, just figured he would have passed the 1,000 point mark before now.

congrats EJ

Elisha has been starting for 3 years. He played alot off the bench as an 8th grader, but was utilized more for ballhandling than anything else. His offensive output has really increased this season. He scored his first career points on 12/28/05 against Mercer County at Belfry.

Congratulations to Elisha for this achievement. The good thing about this is that I know he isn't worried about scoring and wanting to be the all-time scoring leader at Shelby Valley. He would always put his team before himself. He clearly makes his teammates better and always controls the tempo of the game. As for the scoring leader at Shelby Valley, it seems like I remember Shannon Akers having appoximately 1,700-1,800 points in his storied career. I'm not completely sure, but those numbers seem to ring a bell. In this decade, Valley has had several 1,000 point players.

Elisha passing the 1000 point mark his Junior year shows you the many points of his game. If all he did was score, this Valley team wouldn't be half as good. Elisha sets up the offense, is the team leader, he's the defensive commander, and gets this team up for games.

1404 - Shannon Akers
1309 - Kelsey Friend
1249 - Jeremy Akers
1173 - Seth Kiser
1129 - John Wright
1105 - Jacob Bryant
1094 - Brad Johnson
1050 - Patrick Tackett

This is from the team program produced at the beginning of the season. It seemed to me that there were a couple more 1000 point scorers. I was thinking Johnny Alvin was one of them, but not sure.

Great accomplishment. I hope UL or UK is smart enough to bring this kid in

All of the talk around is that his front runners are Arkansas and Florida.

What impresses me is his intensity on D. IMO he's a great all around player.

Which is an incredible comliment to the young man, all the more reason why I would want this kid to stay in state. I don't want another Chris Lofton playing on another rival beating me.

Congrats!

Congratulations to him.

I don't know this young man but I would like to extend my congratulations. From the things I've read and heard he is an outstanding player and kid. So congratulations, I wish you well.

Outstanding point, Stardust, Elisha needs to stay in Ky.

Congrats!

Good job Elisha, sorry to see that the state tourney kinda shadowed the fact that you hit the 1k mark.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It is the size of the fight in the dog.

Congrats!

There is not doubt that this kid can play for either UK or the Cards

I understand that Elisha is actually on pace to set the career steals record in the state of Kentucky...

Pretty sure it has been said that Jeremy Johnson and Bobby Keys surpassed the 1,000 point mark.
