With signing day next week I figured a quick rundown of what's left for UK would be appropriate. These are the KNOWN targets:
3* TE Terrell Mitchell- UK is clearly the front runner over Michigan and Miami. Mitchell also sports offers from UL, MissState, South Carolina, WVU, and Clemson. The big issue...will he be eligible academically.
3* DT Darius McMullin- Currently a Vanderbilt committ, UK has been on him hard and rumors are that he is waivering towards UK. It is a two horse race, but the issue may be if UK has a scholarship left even if he chooses them.
He also has offers from ole Miss, UCF, Tulane, UAB, and Louisiana Tech.
2* DT Hakeem Worthen- 99% chance he won't make grades and would be a sign and place guy. 6'5 315 DT with skills... but a scholarship may not be free.
3* LB DeDe Lattimore- Another guy with serious grade issues. Still holds UK offer and still lists Cats, but has never been high on them. even if he does qualify dont expect him to sign. Has offers from Michigan, Auburn, and Oklahoma State.
...And now for the big boys who make signing day fun:
4* CB Justin Green- Lou. Male DB who Cas have threw the kitchen sink at to decommit from Ohio State. He continually announces he is solid, but the word is there is enough of a crack that UK may have the slimmest of chances to sneak in. Has offers from Alabama, Tennessee, Clemson, UL, Illinois, and Miami.
If he has a final list it would be Ohio State and UK... but the odds are against the Cats.
4* JUCO DE DeQuin Evans- This kid was all but wrapped up for UK until this week's visit to UL. Major need position and teammate of UK 4* committ Chris Matthews. Decision is UK vs. UL. Named them as "neck and neck" but I like UK's chances. Other offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Kansas, K-State, Oregon, Washington State, and Nevada.
and last but not least.....
4* S Darren Myles- UK shocked the country when out of nowhere they were not only named in myles' Final 4... but they earned his fnal visit coming up this weekend. Kid is an Army All-American and former UGA committ. UK's primary competition is LSU, Alabama, and Tennessee. The other offers he holds are a varitable "Who's Who":
Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Michigan, NC State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Purdue, South Carolina, and WVU.
For UK to make his Final 4 speaks volumes of how hard this staff is working, but to have a legitimate chance is unbelievable!

Terrell Mitchell is now a Cat. One heckuva pickup if he can get qualified acadmically. He ended up being one of the most sought after TE's in the country.

So.. setting up the stretch run this week with Signing Day on Wednesday:
Big targets (These three are the primary focus of staff):
DE Evans- between Uk and UL.. UK has the edge it appears.
CB Green- Between UK and OSU.. OSU seemingly has the edge
S Myles- Between UK, UT, LSU, and BAMA. Supposedly his visit went very well,
Possible:
DT McMullin- Between UK and Vandy, Vandy has edge (if UK has room now)
Possible, but Not Going to Qualify:
DT Worthen- haven't heard much, but best case he will be a Greyshirt
It appears the offense is done and accounted for now, here is a rundown.
Key COMMITTED Recruits This Class
QB- Newton (4*) and Mossakowski (4*): Simply put a phenominal job as both are potential superstars.
RB- Russell (3*), Morgan (JUCO), Tyler (3*): Tyler will probably be a Safety, but will get his look at RB. Uk needed depth and got it.
WR- Matthews (JUCO 4*), LaRod King (3*), Justin Bean (2*): UK added much needed depth and talent. King and Matthews are tall and talented. UK has several ATH who may contribute to this positiona s well.
TE- Kendrick (High 3*) and Mitchell (High 3*): If you loved Tamme you will lvoe these guys. Basically WR's with strength. Both guys are Top 40 nationally at their position.
OL- Simpson ( High 3*), Warford (3*), Mitchell (2*): Cats added one of the top Center's in the nation (heavily recruited), a mammoth tackle, and Mitchell who is a project but could potentially be a Tackle or Guard as well.
ATH- Adams (2*), Aumiller (2*): Aumiller is a sure-fire greyshirt. He projects either as a TE or a LB. Adams is an interesting player. He is a tall, skinny kid with good speed. He played QB in a Read Option system and looked fairly impressive. He could project at a number of positions (except QB) where he will be a project, but a project with talent. He could potentially be a WR, TE, S, or LB. It appears a redshirt will be automatic for this kid.
All in all I think UK has done very well recruiting offense. Their need entering the offseason was clearly to find their future QB, add depth at RB, add skill/size at WR, add depth at OL, and find a pass catching TE. They effectively did all of these and even superceded by adding two superstar QB's and two highly touted pass catching TE's. Additionally, UK has recruited players with varying skill sets to give them flexibility to switch formations andutilize different skills and looks.
I'd rate their offensive recruiting as a solid B.
