I've seen a lot of great point guards this year and I was wondering who everyone thinks the best one in the mountains is this year?
I'll have to go with Elisha Justice of Shelby Valley. The kid does it all. He makes excellent decisions with the basketball, runs many styles of offenses, plays fierce defense with his extremely quick hands and feet, and he simply makes his teammates so much better when he is on the floor. He is a special player and has abilities that you can't teach as a coach.
What does everyone else think?

Tate Cox

Tate C. is a very good mountain high school guard.he's a shooting guard who when in a zone can knock the lights out. He's not a point.Jutice from Valley is the total package.

Don't know about the best but the most underrated point guard might well be Devin Blair of Letcher Central. He does a lot for his team and has for the past three years.

Ethan Faulkner end of discussion!

You could also make cases for Tate Cox and Ethan Faulkner.

Cox & Whitaker are fun to watch play agaisnt each other!

Justice says it all. No comparison with any other point guard in the mountains. Whitaker is a great point guard but Justice is in a league of his own IMO.

i couldnt agree more.. tate is an all around ball player..

Hazard has the best two pointguards in the Region on their team. Eric Back and Josh Whitaker.

I've seen Elisha, Tate, and Josh Whitaker play and Elisha is much better all-around player than the other two.
Some of you need to travel outside the 14th and witness the kid play.

James David Strange. Put him on Hazard, Corbin, Shelby Valley, etc and watch him shine.

its a very close race..

I think it's funny how some of you want to name a player and act like they are head and shoulders above anyone else. There are numerous talented PG's in the moutains, such as Whitaker, Faulkner, Strange, Justice, Cox or Stamper, and a case could be made for about any one of them. But none of them are "hands down" better than the rest...

I don't know about that. A great player but I think he is a little behind Justice and Whitaker.

Tate does handle the ball...always...he is a better shooting guard, but he always brings the ball down the floor! He does really well at it, but I believe the question was about a PG! Who cares if Justice is a good all around player...is he the best PG? I think he's Great, don't get me wrong. But Whitaker is a good pure PG and if Back would have stayed at PCC he would be shining too, but he still does well at Hazard, but hes just in the shadows a little!
