......Beechwood always has been known for doing special things on the football field. The Tigers have established themselves as the top small-school program in the state. During the 1990s they posted a 126-15 record and won seven state titles. Both marks led the state during the decade. In that same span, the basketball team struggled, going 79-115......
...... The Tigers are 11-2 entering tonight's home game against Highlands. They have the third-best winning percentage in Northern Kentucky. They're ranked sixth in the Enquirer Northern Kentucky coaches' poll. They'll enter next week's Ninth Region All "A" Classic as one of the favored teams. They look to have a pretty decent team, but they still don't have that signature win, although they did play Campbell County pretty close. The Tigers could possibly pull of an upset or two, but I believe everyone knows that the 9th region is Holmes, the only team that may have something to say about that is Highlands & Boone County.
Best of luck to the Tigers on the rest of the season!

I agree, their game with CCHS was their only signature game in which they showed they could compete with the top tier teams in NKY.
They did outrebound the Camels, which did impress me in that game. The Snider kid did a very good job of boxing out our best Big Man and the rest of the Beechwood players knew how to take advantage of that box out.
If Beechwood would have shot better from the 3-point line, they would have beaten the Camels on their home floor and I must admit, the Camels did not play bad.
The only other game that Beechwood had against a top five team was Holmes early in the season. They were beaten very soundly in that game.
I would expect Beechwood to be a tough win for anyone during the All "A". They have good size and typically shoot the ball very well.
As a Camel fan, we hated to lose a new Beechwood player, Tyler Fangman. Tyler as a Sophmore will help the Tigers from the outside even more. He of late has been getting Varsity time and he can fill it up from the 3-point line.
