Wrestlemania 25
#1
Just knowing how much of an effort that WWE took to make Raw's 15 anniversary show such a big event, what will WWE do to make their biggest event the all-time best?

Do they try to bring back any of the first events stars? Could we see another return of the Hulkster? Do they bring in the Rock & Stone Cold for special appearances?

Who do they make as the next sacraficial lamb for the Understaker? You know that his undefeated streak will continue, but they have to match him up with someone that they can build a story that actually has all of us marks really think "this time I think the Undertaker can lose" Cool , only to be swerved again.

I've been trying to see the direction that they are going, and usually the Royal Rumble is the indicator for Wrestlemania. I'm sorry, but there is nothing in the JBL Shawn Michaels story to get me excited to see that match-up.

Do both Hardy's make it to WM25 with the belt? I feel that Edge steals Jeff's in some kind of controversy prior to, thus setting up a rematch that would drive the fans interest in JH winning back the title from the Rated R Superstar. Who was the unidentified attacker on Jeff a few weeks back? Could we all get swerved and it turn out to be Brother Jeff?

How does Vince reintroduce himself back to television. You know he is going to be loud and proud at WM25, he has too much ego to not have a storyline about himself somewhere in the event. Maybe a Stone Cold Stunner and Rock Bottom await him

Do we get any surprise arrivals. Rumors are that Christian could be headed to WWE, but it looks like he is getting a new push in TNA. You figure that some of the missing wrestlers like Mr. Kennedy should be back for WM25.

What are your thoughts on matches and direction of the event.

wrestling is F-A-K-E! Get it! It's not real!

And your point is? Wrestling is not fake, nothing fake about it. :ChairHit:

Predetermined, Yes. But, so is Survivor, Rock of Love, American Idol, General Hospital....... Big Grin

Pro wrestling is way to far fetched for me with all the fake punches and stuff they do. Just makes me sick to watch a commercial about it. But i hope you enjoy a long, drug out, impossible match, where 30 people break into the ring to help someone out.
#5
Who cares? Wrestling is so FAKE. I can't stand to watch it, they are just a bunch of 'roided up wanna-be's or has-been's... I just can't even talk about it long it's so fake.

I agree.

I wish people on here would take a Chair to the head and tell me how fake that is..or jump off a 40 ft. titantron..they may know whats going to happen in the story line..but its not fake..and ive not watched it in a while and i have no idea whats goin on but i wish HHH would be the champ again

Then maybe this is a thread that is not meant for you. There are people that it interests, and BGR is a place where everyone can participate in subjects that are of interest to them.

Seriously people, if you don't like wrestling then don't even bother to post in threads like this.

I hate the NBA but I'm not going into those threads and bashing the sport.

Wrestling is real, the physicality is real, the outcome is pre-determined, yes, but take a fall in a wrestling ring and tell me if it doesn't hurt. They admitted the outcomes were predetermined like 15 or 20 years ago, get over it. As for the comment about wrestlers being "roided up;" the WWE has a very thorough drug-testing policy. The recent incident with Chris Benoit helped spark a crackdown on steroids and other drugs in the company.

And to get this thread back on topic.

Vince will be making his return to Raw in 2 weeks. It was announced on last night's Raw.

IDK why, but I could possibly see Undertaker vs. Koslov at WM. Christian has indeed signed back with WWE, but they are waiting for the right time to make his debut. I can see Edge and Christian teaming up again, in fact, it's possible that they might introduce Christian as Jeff Hardy's attacker.

I'm with you on JBL. He is flat-out boring. Nothing he does is entertaining and he is not a heel because he plays one well, he's a heel because he sucks. I see the JBL/HBK thing being over with in the next couple weeks or month.

Great post. I had heard of the Christian rumor, but had not heard that it was confirmed. There are a lot of things they can do with Edge/Christian and the Hardy's - both in Singles and TT.

It's logical to see UT & Koslov, but I don't think they can truly push that there is a legit chance that Kos could beat UT in a Wrestlemania. It was fun last year when you had the perfect records of UT & Edge, but you still knew the deadman would come out on top. We'll see.

I'm looking forward to a Vinnie Mac comeback. I think it was a great idea to take himself out of the story lines.

I think there original plan was to push the JBL story to a WM25 match-up, and I think at this stage they are going to have to complete the story. With RR coming up, there is not enough time to take the story in a different direction. It's possible to do a Feburary blowoff, but would there be enough time to set both of them back up for new rivalries by WM? I think we are in for the long haul. Hopefully creative can find an interesting angle. I think they were teasing something last night.

Well, I for one am proud wrestling fan. And yes I know it's fake, but so is a lot of stuff. But anyways, they have been many plans for Wrestlemania, Christain Cage has not signed with the WWE as of it. it is general thought that he will. But, storyline plans are in the works in case it does happen. As, of right now on Smackdown there gonna be working an angle where Jeff and his wife were invovled in a hit and run, with it seriously injuring his wife. Edge, is gonna cost hardy the title. The plans are for Hardy to win a title shot for Mania either in the RR or in an elimination chamber match, then turn it down for a chance to get a grudge match with Christain if he signs.
As for Taker, HBK has pitched angles for him and Taker at Mania. Which I could see this working on the lines of HBK ended Flairs career, so whats next end the streak.
So my wrestlemania plans are liek this:
World Hvy Weight-Cena vs Orton
WWE title-HHH vs Edge
Hardy vs Christain

I think a Taker/HBK match would be interesting, but nothing that would make the fans believe UT would lose. I think there is too much repect for UT in the locker room and the organization to lose a WM. I think that streak will be his for history.

From what I have read he has wanted Kane to end his streak but Kane didn't want to. I think they could make people belive it playing the HBK is Mr. Wrestlemania.

As part of WM25, Stone Cold Steve Austin will headline the HOF inductees. Another announced inductee is 70's-80's star and UWF promoter Cowboy Bill Watts.

oh I miss the old days of wrestling, I have not kept up with it since i was young but it was always a fun thing to watch. I think with todays WWE it has went way to far over board with some of the story lines. The day the story line happened in the WCW with the Wolf Pack and NWO was the demise of story line in wrestling. Some of it is still fun to keep up with. I just lost alot of interest in it. I would love to see an old school Undertaker vs whom ever in a graveyard match. Enjoy W25 though we all must have things that interest us other wise we would all be bored out of our minds lol.

Until they get Vince and Shane back into the story lines it will never be as good as it was.......

I love wrestling, have since I was a kid and will continue to watch till I die. I think this may be one thing we agree on stardust. As for Wrestlemania, I cant wait, its going to be good with the feud of Randy Orton and Triple H, now that they finally let it be known that HHH is married to Stephanie, that adds more to the storyline and helps it come across as being more legit, more real.

I'm looking forward to the Shawn Michaels/Undertaker match, one that im sure Undertaker will win. Shawn has been known to take the bumps and put over other superstars and Im sure he wont mind letting Undertaker have his glory as being the only undefeated wrestler in Wrestlmania history. He will still be the Showstopper and Mr. Wrestlemania, but this moment will belong to Undertaker, to go out with the undefeated record at WM.

I hate the Cena/Edge/Big Show storyline, but I hate John Cena altogether. If he would actually make a heel turn, I would like him way more. Faces just get on my nerves when they stay that way their entire career. Thats why I never liked Hogan, especially back in the 80's with all his say your prayers, take your vitamins bull****. I know it was mostly for kids, but I was a kid and I hated it, and it was way overdone. I liked him better with the NWO, not much better, but still moreso than the Hulkamania days.

I think they will try to have a thing with Austin, if hes able, and Vince, or possibly Hogan and Austin. The latter is the one I have been reading more about and would love to see Austin kick Hogans *** all over the ring. I wouldnt have a winner in the match either. As much as I hate Hogan, I dont think it would go over well to have him or Austin either one lose at Wrestlemania. Hogan being the one that made Wrestlemania big, and Austin being the more popular of the two, in my opinion anyway. All in all it would be a good match. Now that I think about it, maybe it could be Austin or Hogan going against Jericho. With the way he has been bashing the legends of wrestling, it would make sense for either one to take the match, but I would probably lean toward Hogan doing it, since he has been around longer than Austin. I think they should rekindle the Austin/McMahon feud for WM, but that probably wont work either, so I'm not sure about any involvement by either one, being that Austin has the bad knees and neck, and Vince is getting really old and as of late has had something bad happen every time he turns around.

The MOTB match is usually pretty good, and should be even better, especially since Jericho isnt in it. That was the best thing for that match. Is it me or is he really irritating in this storyline. I know hes good at playing the heel, but good god, it drives me nuts. But that also shows that hes doing his job.

I think one of the best matches will be the Hardys. They could easily steal the entire show, they are both highflying risktakers and I think would make for one **** of a match.

They are supposed to be having some kind of Diva battle royal and bringing in some past divas for the match, like Sunny, Trish and most likely Lita, as well as some others. I dont really like to watch these women wrestle, its really kind of horrible when I think about it. Some of them botch their moves so badly that other women end up hurt because of it. I wish they would do away with the women wrestling and just use them as valets like in the old days.

Thats about all I have to say right now. I am looking forward to watching Wrestlemania, I just hope Vince does what he can to make it the most memorable Mania of all time, being its the 25th anniversary.
#26
I don't watch it as much as I used to back when Stone Cold left. He was the greatest and RAW needs another Rattlesnake. I watch it about every other weekend and I think the main event should bu between HBK and Undertaker. But, I think it will be between HHH and Randy.

I haven't watched wrestling since probably 2002 at the latest and I knew that, didn't that happen way back when?
#28
Yeah it did, but it was never used as a storyline until now. Everyone knew they were married, its just that they never used it like they are now. Thats what I was meaning.

25th Anniversary, you would certainly have to believe work has been done to provide a shocker, yet, I have not seen it materialize yet.

What we do know is we have, Orton/HHH. Been done a few times already, nothing that get's me too excited.

Taker/Michaels - it would be understandable to see Take make his swansong here, but even if he loses, we know there is no such thing as "retired" in professional wrestling.

What Legends come back? Austin seems to be a sure thing. I beleive that Jericho's use of the Pit, almost assures something with Piper, which then almost guarentee's Piper's WM1 foe Hogan will be involved. For me, give me the Rock. Though the talk for years is that a Hogan and Austin battle would be the "biggest" even ever, I think it's intriguing. But, if you want to get me excited, give me the Rock and Stone Cold. I can't see the Rock doing it, but, that's why it's wrestling.

I expected WWE to do something bigger with the Christian jump. I thought for sure we would possibly see Christian/Edge vs. Hardy's TLC match.

What celebreties??? I guess it's safe to say that Mickey Rourke will be involved, at least you would think. William Shatner possibly giving the King a slap for good measure. And the altime celebrety great WM guest, has to be a Kane destruction of good ole Pete Rose.

Is there something that could brew with all the Legend "kids" that we have and their fathers? Super Fly just flat out can't move, but I see him at the show none the less. I think we will see the "Million Dollar Man" get physically involved. And, OH YES, what will get good old "StarDust" to plop down his $50, and appearacne by the American Dream, Dustry Rhodes, lol. You also figure Flair is as good as Gold for an appearance.

You have Bret Hart promoting the Legends of Wrestlemania video game for WWE, so give me something touching and warm with Bret Hart and Vince. No showbiz here, but something real and legit. Honor Owen properly with Bret and VKM doing a legit peace offering. Owen and Stu being entered into the HOF assures us that the Hitman will be there.

The event is in Texas - we have two neighbor AZ residents, Honky Tonk Man and Ultimate Warrior who reside there???? Not likely, but who knows. Vince has also sworn to never ever do biz with Macho Man, but with Vince never always ends tomorrow.

For the Diva's - this could be interesting. More interesting than the 25 Diva Battle Royal are the possibilites for return. Besides the current crop, let me see Lita, Trish Stratus - legs Stacy Kiebler, and very doubtful, but Brocks squeeze (fresh from giving birth) Sable. But for me, I've always said, I'd rather be in Chyna.

Today's WWE is far from the 80's Hulkamania and the 90's Attitude generation. The thing that did the absolute best thing for Wrestling was the Monday Night Wars. With no WCW, there is minimal interest anymore. I'm lucky if I watch 2 hours a month. Used to be I would watch one live Monday night show, and immediately flip on the VCR to watch the taped other promotion. I probably saw 10 hours of wrestling a week and had a pre-teen who loved to watch it with me. Now, ho-hum.

I try to keep up with TNA when possible, primarily becasue I am friends with former TNA star WildCat Chris Harris, who is trying to get his life back on track and make another run (make it into NKY area, I'll get you to where he is performing at in the area). TNA is WWE's only hope of rekindling the days of the past. It is no accident that TNA is the place for former WWE stars. It is mutual in most cases for a WWE star to leave for the shorter schedule of TNA. Though we are seeing the reformation of the Outsiders and NWO gimic, it just has not caught on. If it ever does, maybe we get back to what the Boss proclaims in song, "Glory Day's"......
