Good win for Pineville.
Teams that are beating the Black Bears this year had probably better enjoy it. Because when this big school gets coorinated with their program, they'll more likely be stiff competition to get a W from. More in line with South Laurel and those type programs.

I disagree.
Their are schools just as big as Harlan County that lose to small schools year in and year out. South Laurel has a good team every year because they have a tradition rich program, which attracts kids from surrounding counties.

They have the enrollment (about the same as North and South's), a good coach, and a combination of programs that have had some great basketball tradition and players in their histories. Cumberland was one of those, made it to the state (not easy with a small school like their's) and turned out some great athletes such as Garrett Gregory, Lewis Morris, and others. And Cawood has had some studs over the years too. So too has Evarts.

So, I disagree with you. It's just a matter of time until Harlan County is going to be a HUGE factor in 13th region and state play.

You made it sound like just because Harlan County was a big school that they would automatically have a great basketball program.
That's what I disagreed with. Didn't say that Harlan County wouldn't have a tradition rich program because it may happen in due time.

But I think they'll be a force to reckon with, not only in basketball, but football as well.

The reason Harlan County will eventially be good is because they hired a head coach that works hard and is a good coach. It has nothing to do with tradition. There is no tradition. Its a new school and the three schools that consolidated into Harlan Co have a total of one regional championship and no Sweet 16 wins.
