Congrats on the win, they'll have their hands full tomorrow against Heritage Academy with Boynton.
Hard to believe there was a game there today that finished 28-18?

He played some in the first half, but none in the second. He took zero shots because of the shoulder.

Yes, tomorrow night's game will be tough against American Heritage.Hang in there Wildcats !!

With Elisha at 100% Valley may be able to make tomorrow's game reasonable, but Boynton will have his day tomorrow with Valley's best defender not at 100%.

Looks as if I was told wrong on Elisha's shots. One of my 7th grade ballplayers is down there with them and he gave me the info. Sorry for the misinformation.

Here is a link to Boynton from Rivals:
#2 Shooting Guard and #7 overall player in the nation. He signed with Florida, but had offers from Duke, Texas, Memphis, USC, Kansas State, and Georgia Tech.

From the stats it looks as if everyone contributed and played an all around team game. If Justice can just distribute the ball his presence will be worth an awful lot. Couldn't sleep until I got a score. So Wildcats!!!

Justice took 2, maybe 3, shots, at max... and one was left handed. Big win despite the fact that Justice got hit in the shoulder again in the fourth and grimaced hard, but kept playing. He DID play in the second half but not a whole lot.
Poinciana had a horrible record last year and this years team was very small with no post players. They had no match for Valley inside, but they could shoot the ball pretty well. Poinciana was up 29-27 at halftime because of their good first half shooting. They had a phenomenal player named McElroy who was blowing by every defender, even Justice, and was probably the strongest player on the court. However, in the third he went up HIGH and blocked a Tyler Newsome lay-up in, and came down awkward on his ankle, rolling it verrrrrry bad. He came out of the game, took his shoe off, went back with the trainer, and came back out in the fourth quarter with Valley having a six point leader now, taking advantage with their best player down. Game was close, but Tyler Newsome hit a huge three to end the third quarter and but valley up 6 for good (albeit rolled around the rim and took a big bounce before falling through).
McElroy played sparingly in the fourth because he could barely walk on his ankle. Not sure why they kept playing him, they are guaranteed more games but I doubt he will be able to play any more now, and he is their only hope for stealing a victory in this tourney. Judging by the fact that he couldn't even walk to the car after the game, I bet he is feeling the effect of going back into the game today.
Good win by Valley, now lets see how they do against Boynton and American Heritage... should be interesting. Congrats.
