"Simpson, the Simon Kenton running back who carried the Pioneers to a Class 6A state runner-up finish, is the Enquirer's Northern Kentucky player of the year.
He led the area with 2,309 rushing yards, 41 total touchdowns and 264 points. The point total tied him for 10th place in the state's single-season record book. Alexander, as a junior at Boone County, rushed for 2,401 yards and scored 42 touchdowns. He scored 252 points"

Excellent year for Simpson. SK was one of the states hottest teams down the stretch, primarily on Simpson's shoulders.

Yes, Simpson did an incredible job against NKY competition. Watching him in the Campbell County game was something of amazement. This young man has tremendous skills for a Jr.

Has to be an early 2010 candiate for Mr. Football

The scary thing for Northern KY is the majority of the starters for SK were underclassman. Simpson will have a lot of experience around him to help him in '09 as well.

Too bad Highlands does not have them on next years schedule! Maybe we could get rid of one of the Ryle games.

6A across the board will be loaded next year. Every team brings back their QB's and I beleive Ryle may have been the only team with a Sr. starting running back.
You have two of the best running backs in the state with Simpson and Quainoo of Boone Co., both of which can challenge for Mr. Football.
