#31
way to go pats!

outdoorsman43 Wrote:you said that Hazard was tops in the region. Now that KCC has defeated Hazard @ Memorial Gym then I think they are big step above Perry Central

:/..i give KCC the credit for winning and Cox is a great player and if they beat PCC i think they will be #1 but not until then
#33
Real good game...cant wait until the next match up!

Tate Cox is the best player in the 14th hands down.:notworthy
#34
Great game! Congrats KCC. The 14th region is much more competitive this year and I'm looking forward to it. There's no clear frontrunner. I like it like that.
#35
Tate Cox is one of the best scorer in the 14th, if not the best, and with and plus you have to defend stamper at the same time it will very hard to beat KCC.

That 1-2 punch is the best in the 14th byfar.

Congrats on the HUGE Win. Way to Beat Those Dawgs!

Congrats KCC on the W.
I'm tired of hearing about money, money, money, money, money. I just want to play the game, drink Pepsi, wear Reebok -Shaquille O'Neal

Golden Nugget Wrote:Are you insane. They are both great players. Looks like both were better than Whitaker tonight. Campbell couldnt guard Stamper in the first half and Whitaker couldnt guard cox in the 2nd. they are both great players. One is a point guard and one is not. thats the big difference. Cox is not at JBS, So dont try to tear them down anymore, he gets to shoot now and might I add , can fill it up, and so can Stamper. You cant stop them both it appears. What will really be scary is when the rest of the players start hurting teams, because they are capable too. People can say what they want, but Hazard actually shot lights out, especially a couple of football boys, who normally dont shoot that well. Knott is a contender, but by no means are far ahead of the rest of the region. Hazard, PCC, and Letcher will also be there in the end. Oh yeah, Hazard Pep section, that was a good try, but Stamper made you guys eat your words, You cant get under those boys skin, It didnt work, and oh yeah SCOREBOARD baby!!!!!!!!

Yeah I loved it. They were VERY classy tonight, flipping off KCC's fans.... and what else they did. They had to get the cops on them twice! LOL Plus, a Hazard player flipped off our pep club (won't say the name but you can pretty well guess who it was). They were VERY classy tonight.. hahahahhah

But KCC sure showed them.... They had more fans at the game as well as a bigger and better pep section!

I still won't say Tate Cox is the best in the 14th HANDS DOWN... He's definitely making a case though....very impressive, but the season is just beginning.

Was a great game, really glad i made the trip to watch. Tate Cox showed me that yea he is the best player in that region he was a level better than all players on the court tonight. Stamper showed some nice speed and had some really great steals out there. KCC was really able to shut down the play of Whitaker, I thought #23 Logan Bartrum really stepped up on defense against Whitaker when he was in the game. I would have like to seen Hazard give the ball to Jones more. Congrats to KCC on the victory.
#40
I agree about Jones, he could be a beast this year. I also agree that Cox/Stamper are probably the best 1-2 in the region, but again it's early on. At the end, the best TEAM is going to win it.
#41
congrats kcc great road win
#42
Great game to watch, Stuart Stamper really lit it up in the first half but didn't do too much in the second half. Tate Cox played great hitting all the clutch shots down the stretch to give KCC the win. Hazard played really well down low but as it got later in the game they drifted from what was working for them. Congrats to KCC on the win.
#43
stamper carried the pats the first half then cox took over the second half.. i thought bartrum rlly played a good game for the pats.. i look for the patriot bench to step up more as the year goes on and rlly give the cox and stamper combo some help... with bartrum and mullins filling it up from the outside... they will be a great team when the bench becomes consistent.. great game to watch.. wonderful atmosphere.. congrats kcc
#44
Great win KCC. Congrats to Tate stepping his game up to another level better than anyone in the 14th Region. Controlling the Pats offense and hitting the big shots when they were needed. Bartum and Amburgey had a good game for KCC. Hazard's turnovers while playing a slow tempo game where ever possession counts and their losing Stewart and Tate on the defensive end giving up open shots contributed a lot to their losing the game tonight. Coach Holland will correct this as the Bulldogs pratice and play more games. Hazard has a lot of room for improvement in this team. Looking forward to the rematch. Congrats again Tate on a great game.

This Hazard-KCC game was a barnburner. It was an awesome atmosphere and to me felt more like a tournament game. Memorial Gym was packed, the fans were yelling, the band was playing, both teams were giving it their all. It was just a great game to attend. Even the J-V game was exciting. Congrats to KCC...already looking forward to Feb 19th.
GOOOOOOO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!

lmao @ hazard
And they say we don't get out of the holler enough *sigh*
that's some pretty primitive stuff

Great game on both sides saw this early in the year after Hazard's state title run in football. Today Knott is the best team howver down the road when it matters I see the Bulldogs prevailing, don't forget the moose roams the sidelines for Hazard also. On another note I would like to take time to congratulate KCC's young assistant Hurt on his suit tonight however it was suspect to be a little tight at the neck.
#48
Congrats KCC on the win..But you must remember that this game being a 2 point win over Hazard, whom remind, have just got there football boys and only losing by 2 points last night will end up biting KCC later on in the year when it matters most..And the reason....BIG AL.
#49
First off....congrats to KCC on the win. Great job boys. And Playboy5 that 2 pt win was on your home court. I am suprised that KCC won on that court because in an earlier post I stated that it was hard to win at Hazard because of the refs, my mind hasn't changed. Michael Campbell got away with illegal screens all night long as well as foul after foul. I think when we play again, with different the refs the lead for KCC will be much bigger. Although, I thought the refs did a decent job, they still let MC away with too much. I can't figure coach Amburgey out, why did he not have Amburgey under the goal more, if he had of, the rebounding would have been better for KCC. I wonder also when we beat PCC, will be a team that will contend or who else will we have to beat in order for any of you perry county fans to admit that KCC is number 1.

Big Win

You know, this game doesn't bother me at all! Granted, I would have preferred a win...any fan would! But, this is the first game iin which our football players have actually played as a basketball team, and after only one week of BASKETBALL practice! And you mention the refs...well, they made horrible calls, ganted some both ways, but still KCC rode Josh Whitaker like a horse all night and few calls were made. KCC was only called for nine fouls for the entire game! Give me a break!!! I look for the dogs to mature and come right along and, llike our football team, to peak at the right time...tournament time!!!

Go Bulldogs!!

Dont know the players name but #23 on KCC has the worst mouth I have ever heard. Screaming out the words as he was playing !! Only one that I noticed on the floor acting that way . Didnt see the Hazard player do as you said but if he did he wasnt the only one. Not very good role models for younger kids!!!
#53
Sounds like it was an awesome game. Congrats KCC
#54
Congrats to the Patriots. Hazard should of definitely used their size to their advantage. They did not go into Jones and Campbell enough and Whitaker is still dribbling the air out of the ball. I'm sure Coach Holland will make some changes as this young season goes on, but this game showed that we have at least 3 teams maybe 4 that will compete for the Regional title. And what is great, they are all 4 in the WYMT TOURNEY THIS YEAR!!! Could be a great all 14th region final 4. Can't wait till Jan, should be some great basketball. Merry Christmas to all!

Memorial Gym #5 Wrote:Noticed Cox and Stamper scored a combined 43 of KCC's 54. Does KCC have a deep bench? I haven't seen them this year, and was curious?? Thanks for the info.

KCC's bench didn't seem to help them very much last night. That was the second time i've seen them and I haven't seen much production from the bench with the exception of maybe Bartrum. Their bench players have potential but most are not ready for quality varsity minutes.

They have time to improve this season. If the players around stamper and cox improve, they could be the favorite come tournament time. If they don't, it could be the difference between them winning or losing the 14th. Right now Perry Central seems to have the most balanced team play, and this is pretty much Hazard's first week of full practice and play so I expect alot of improvement from them. These three teams and maybe a couple more are going to make this a GREAT season in the 14th!

This region is too close to call this year. I think what we saw last night is how it is going to be all season long.

You have to beat PCC first. If you beat PCC, I will say you are the number 1 team in the region.... for the moment. It's not like you blew Hazard away. That win last night was not an easy one, and I suspect there will be no easy wins for any of these teams this year when they meet.
#58
congrats kcc way to go!!
#59
These two teams should meet in about 3 weeks in the semi finals of wymt, look for Hazard to be in alot better shape and Eric Back will be playing by then.

Kcc played a great game, Cox and Stamper hit some tough shots, knotts big guys out worked hazard bigs for rebounds late in game.

Hazard will be fine give them a few more weeks.
#60
Great game! Pretty much what I expected, but I did expect Hazard to win by 3 to 5 pts. However, I still think by season end Knott won't come within 15 pts of Hazard. Cox is a good player, but lets keep him on earth. Whitaker really aggrevated him that first half with good defensive pressure as Cox seemed to have problems handling the ball, but Cox picked it up in the second half and played great. I do believe once Hazard gets in full form no one comes close in this region. I thought Whitaker was playing out of control at times last night and he needs to ditch that black arm thing and quit trying to look special and just play ball. He was clearly out played by Cox which may benifit him. I think his head has swelled a bit.

Congrats Knott
