Final.

From what I heard on the radio Valley jumped out in front in the first quarter and never looked back....congrats SV

You are correct. This game was over early, as Valley had either a 21 or 23 point lead at the end of the first quarter. Ashland played their best quarter in the second, and SV still just led by 23 at the half. The lead grew to 38 after the third, and I think the fourth was mostly subs for both teams.
Good opening game for Valley, they looked very athletic and played well as a team. They were a little careless with the ball at times and seemed to be trying to show off a bit in the second half, but all in all it was hard to find fault with them tonight.

Ouch.

Sounds like Valley played really well, which is completely expected. I did expect a little better of a game from Blazer. Does anyone know if they are down or anything, or was Valley really just that dominant.

I thought they looked really good in the first and third quarters. The lead was 37-16 after the 1st.

The Cats' Pause had them picked 3rd in a down 16th region.

Ashland is down this year. They have some decent size but they are not very athletic.

That's why I said a "down" 16th region.

West Carter and Bath County are both probably better. Fairview may be as well.

So how did Elisha and Ashley look?

Both played well. Elisha had 22 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals on 7-11 shooting (4-4 from 3 and 4-4 from the FT line). Ashley had 15 points and 5 assists (including a couple of back door alley oops to Elisha for layups) on 6-11 shooting (4-4 from 2, 2-7 from 3, and 1-1 from the FT line).
It was really good to see Taylor back out there again.

ooo, speaking of ol Bacon, did he look good, good defense like he used to play?

I thought Bacon looked good also. He had 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. It's great to see him back.

Sounds like Valley took the Tomcats out behind the woodshed and spanked them!

Good way to start the season off for my cats. Forgot they had a game today or I woulda went. Whens the next one?

I don't buy they are the 3rd best team either.More like 6 or 7th. Lewis had their chances at them just couldn't get it done.
Don't mean to take anything away from SV though that was an impresive win. Congrats.

I think it's Friday? Schedule says the 12th.

Does anyone know if Valley is going to get Dunbar rescheduled or anything?

Congrats Valley! Good win.
Ashland isn't what they have been in the past, and neither is Henry Clay for that matter, but it isn't like either are cupcakes though. And Valley easily has shown they are what we all expected this year.
I would love to see Valley and Elliott mix it up though! I doubt there are any other teams in Eastern Kentucky that could possibly beat either of them.

Taylor looked very good, and seemed to show no ill effects of the knee injury. He even took a spill to the floor in the second half and got right back up.
Glad to see him back.

I would expect in that game Elisha to play man on Ethan, no zone necessary, Elisha takes the other teams best player out of them game.
