Greenup County 68 Russell 55
#1
Greenup County used their size advantage to dominate on the boards. That was the difference in the game. Neither teams shot well but the 6'4 260 lb Hampton kid just pushed the entire Russell team out of the way.

Greenup has some nice size but they are not a good shooting team. Russell is just young and small. If they are not shooting well it will be hard for them to win games.

Coach Kidwell, Russell coach wasted no time getting his first "T" of the year. He deserved it, but he was right, the kid got fouled, which was the reason he got upset. Russell looked better than I thought they would, but maybe GC is not very good.

He definitely earned that T. He had to go to two different refs to get it. The first guy didn't want to call it much like the foul call he was protesting.

Russell is improved this year. Very young and very small though.

Greenup County is also very young but they have some size to go with it.

In reality neither of these teams are very good right now. But with their youth they should both improve as the year goes along.

Kidwell must have really changed since he went to Russell.Smile Smile

Greenup could be the best team in the district but I will give the edge to Lewis. Look like Russell gave a good effort.

Look for Russell to play a little more zone the next time out vs Greenup.

He has changed a lot. Over the past 6 years he has few T's.
Just went about it the wrong way Friday night. Dont look for him to get very many this season.

I think that might be a pretty good idea. Greenup County is not a very good shooting team. I'd pack it in and make them prove they could beat me from outside. I don't think it will help the rebounding any though.

The next game is the seed game. Kidwell might not have wanted to show his hand just yet.

I'm not sure Merle knows just exactly what kind of had he has been dealt yet. That may have just been a check. Its a very young team and alot of games left to go this season.

Congrats to GC on win. But Coach Kidwell will do a good job of preparing his team and will battle with alot of teams this year.

Congrats Musketeers!!!

Who was the leading scorer for both teams?

i think russell needs to play Taylor more than they should. He should not have came out all game because of the way he played against Williams.
