I guess time will tell the story on Euton... As for what you and Mr. Fields call "negativity", I prefer to call it honesty. Just because He is gonna get a scholarship to UK doesn't mean I, or anyone else should pretend he doesn't have some glaring weaknesses..............

Correct!

Even if you are correct. Is a free 4 or 5 year education at UK so bad, even if you are a bench player?

I guess it would be nice to be apart of the UK Tradition, but me, personally, I would rather PLAY at Georgetown College or something similar and get my 4 years paid for than watch at UK.
Anyone remember Jackson Juleson from East Carter? Euton sort of reminds me of him.
Euton does have this year and next to improve, but you can't really teach foot speed, which he doesn't appear to have IMO.

Keep in mind, this is the same Coach Gillispie who started Mark Coury. And continues to play Michael Porter 30 minutes a game. Anything's possible.

euton is not a great athelete, but is a very solid basketball player. Everyone is a critic, but we need to just let the young men play.I'm not pretending to say he's even close to the same level but didn't people say Larry Legend was to slow to play D1 also!!!

I would have to agree wih you 100% Jed. He played an excellent game and was IMO the most talented player on the floor. I was wondering where Phares was though, didn't know he was sick. As for Euton, there is no way he will make it at Kentucky. He is way too slow, and would get dominated by other big men in the SEC, heck the big man from Logan #34 blocked him a few times and had some nice post moves when Euton was defending him. Logan showed a lot of heart in the sceond half beating them on the last second 3 pointer, was pretty exciting to watch. Billy Hicks and company have a lot of room for improvement, but when they get Phares back all should be well for Scott County.

I would like to clarify something for everyone bickering in here.
This is a forum to voice your opinions.
If someones opinion differs from yours that is fine.
Do not keep making the comments that everyone is being negative just because their opinion differs from yours.
People now-a-days need to grow up and realize that you will never make it in the real world if everyone babies and coddles you and tells you how great you are. There is such a thing as constructive criticism and no one is going to die because of it.

I agree that it would be great to have 4 or 5 years of college payed for at UK, but with the way UK's program is running right now, we can't afford to be giving scholarships out to players like Euton. It just isnt fair to let a player like Dakotah have a full ride to a college with such basketball tradition. I would much rather see it be handed to a player who will actually contribute to the team and help get UK basketball back on track. Like i said, Dakotah just doesnt deserve a scholarship to UK at the level he is playing right now. In my opinion, he should just walk on and let a more deserving player have the scholarship.

[quote=joethegreek]I am glad to hear that Logan's center played good . Last year he struggled at times. He needs to be more physical. As a sophomore he had 22 double doubles[/QUOTE
Would that be Jonathan Bevins by chance? I know him and his family. Great kid and wonderful parents. Just don't get to stay in touch with them like I would like.

I was speaking as a member of the state of Kentucky. No need to get smart on here..

Euto is a lot better than people think. A big man that can defend, rebound and step out and knock down the 3. Scott County is a great team and should win the state tournament with ease. They lost a heartbreaker saturday night to #1 Duncanville(TX)

Looks like the college coaches need to come to you to help them make a decision on who they offer scholarships to.
I don't understand why some people just can't congratulate a young man instead of making comments like the one you did. But, as they say, "what goes around comes around".
12-08-2008, 08:19 PM
I wasn't even at the game, but this is only a scimmage. Alot of people being hard on Scott County. It was only practice. Anyway they wasn't playing the sister of the poor. Logan has rich basketball tradition. I was told that Logan played them in the summer within 7 to 10 points. Both teams had players out. Phares for Scott and the pointt guard from Logan

I just feel bad for the kids you cut when they get on here and read what internet experts like you have to say about them. They are not professionals getting paid to play the game. They are kids with a passion to play the game but I guess there will always be "haters" out there to attempt to shoot them down. It's as simple as that.

Since you are so good you should start playing high school ball again and maybe LCthug can get you a scholarship to play at UK. We could really use a great player like you playing for the "Big Blue"

Woo you are hilarious!!!!! You can stop your stuff about me thinking i'm a UK coach. I wish I could be as cool as you "Goodguy" and have Fred Flintstone as my picture. But i'm just putting out my opinion on Euton and his weak play. Like I said before, if you dont like my comments then don't read them!! But im still pretty certain that he is over-rated. If you don't agree with me, I could care less. And i'm not a hater of him, I just don't care to say what I think! Thanks for reading

Name one, not 5, not 6. Name 1 small forward that is starting in the SEC that Euton could defend??????????? Be honest.... For that matter name one he could get a rebound against????
12-09-2008, 09:55 PM
He did OK rebounding against 4 Southwest Conference signees including a 6'11" Baylor signee Saturday night. I think he had 15 or 16 rebounds against that bunch.

I'm not making statements about Euton, but I did not ANYWHERE near think Landon slone would be getting the PT he is at UK. I didn't think they'd throw him in against SEC guards this early. But they did, and he's doing alright, so I'll say Euton could do fine if he's doing this good in HS.
