Perry Central 91 - Paintsville 60
#1
Final.

Didn't expect a 31 pt victory for PCC. Congrats!

Congrats PCC any stats?

Tigers had 18 turnovers at the half. 8th grader from Paintsville, Trevor Tiller led all scorers with 18. PCC had 4 in double figures and like 16 different people score.

Congrats PCC

Glad to see they let everyone play in such a lopsided game! Looks like PCC is right back on track to contend again this year.
#7
did noble play
#8
I think Noble had 12 and Amis had 14, don't know about the rest. They had a few in double digits. They let everyone play and was a good night for the subs. They could of been like Knott County and ran it up and scored 118 pts too, but that shows little class by the coach in beating someone by 75 pts.

I agree. I thought PCC would win, but not this big or margin. I think this may show how much improved PCC will be this season. Seems they ran a little more. Not as much of the slow down as last season.

I know PCC is a good team and well coached, but is Paintsville going to have a long season? Are they down that much?

I Agree.

Any other stats for Paintsville?

I thought it was a moral victory for the Tigers to put up 60, with the way the refs called the game. PCC would still beat Paintsville on a nuetral court but it would have been a little closer. Turnovers killed the Tigers, according to the radio they had 18 the first half. But it sounded as though it was a football game being called. Seems like PCC had committed over 20 fouls for the game and had a few players foul out. For the Tigers the football players sounded if they were confused on offense. Maybe it has something to do with just having 2 practices, I believe Penix had 7 turnovers with just the few mins he played, but I might be mistaken. Brett looked good and Deaton was out of control as usual. Seems like Viapondo had 12, Green had 8, Spencer had 5,Dainels was around 8 or 9, Tiller had 18 w/ atleast 15 free throw attemps,Cant recall the rest. It was a terrible game to listen to.

They had to sub, there starters were fouling out and one sprained an ankle. If it was class they were trying to show, how come they hammered on an 8th grader all night. He shot aleast 15 free throws, most of them not on shot attemps but the bonus. The refs had to call time to settle PCC's coach and both teams after some hard fouls. Pcc is the better team but be realistic no team can compete under those conditions. Lets here your version.

Well when you consider that Paintsville only won by 7 last year at home with a team that made it almost to the semis of the State Tournament and finished the year with only 4 losses; and then when you consider that Paintsville lost their top 6 players; and when you consider that Perry County Central returned virtually their entire team; WHAT WOULD YOU EXPECT??

PCC was a good team last year and they are a better team this year. Paintsville is going to improve as the season goes, but lets face it - they lost everyone that mattered from last year's team. This year's team is very deep but lacks experience and development. They will do alright.

Yes sir, they are down that much. But they should improve as the season goes. They have a lot of players so depth isn't an issue. However, they lack experience and development as they have very limited varsity experience, some none at all. It will take them some time.

kcc did sub everyone played and everyone scored. the starters didn't even play in the 4th quarter i don't see how you can say that the coaches showed little class. seriously.

I am new to this thread as you can see by the posts, but in my opinion Paintsville will have a very long season winning not more than five games. But by reading some of these posts why did Deaton,Reynolds and Penix even get in the game when everyone has been busting their butt? The way it sounded on the radio was that there was some bad calls but the refs cannot account for 31 points. In other posts and threads they said that Paintsville would go about 10-12 deep but it sounds that they are going 6-8. I also heard that 2 of the new ones had quit because of playing time.

Crying over fouls and calls after the first game? Looks like you are in for a long season of excuses.

By running the score up like that. It is high school basketball, there is no shot clock. All you have to do is set up a half court offense and milk the clock. So yes, putting up 118 on a team that is not even in the game shows a great lack of class.:ChairHit:

Maggard led PCC with 15, D. Amis had 14, J. Noble had 11, and C. Noble had 10.

Was you there or did you listen to it on the radio? By your post it seems that your were doing both. According to the radio and reynolds looking good and deaton was ot of control.

Did Jordan Amis start for PCC?

You must not have listened very closely. Cause thay did go 10 deep last night. And you can count on that for the next few years.

No excuses, I dont think anyone expected the to Tigers to win. It was a foul fest. I was just responding to the "CLASS" comment.

If Deaton and Penix quit, it will be 8.

They'll still go 10 deep. Now coach can concentrate on the future with his younger Tigers.
