Watching the nfl this year, i've noticed alot of odd things. "pole cat", "pistol", "wild cat", and the "wishbone" have been utilized. Are defenses getting so good that poeple are throwing out everything they know, or are they looking at the successes of college and even hs teams? just thought i'd make a comment on it. The past several years, its been 1 or 2 back sets and spread em' out. Now their boxin em' in and punching it. Personally I like the running attacks some have developed. What do others think?

The new "catch phrase" (fad) seems to be the "Wildcat" formation. Where did it come from and what exactly is it?

Place your #1 back in the QB position, lined up in shotgun formation, the 2nd back to his side, these two will run a combination of belly fakes and options, even some jet sweeps, this primarily picked up with Arkansas using D-mac and Felix Jones.

What do others think?I think I read this same thing in an article by Freddie Maggard. I think you have to be able to do one thing well (less is more), but still be able to adapt to what the defense is hitting you with. I think colleges are influenced by the talents of their skill players.

Whatever it takes to wins, but the offense can't do squat without defense.
