Very good game by the Pirates. I think this team is for real. We need to remain nice in this thread.
Welcome to the best site in town! If you need anything, just let me know.

OUCH! I think everyone is stunned.
#5
Impressive win, Congrats Belfry
#6
Congratulations to the Belfry Pirates. Now take it all the way.
#7
Belfry weak secondary= 1/9 passing for 5 yards and 4 INT

Belfry's slow defensive line= Right around 100 yards rushing with a large portion in trash time

The much less talented Pirates compared to Raceland hangs 42 points with relative ease and continually made impressive cuts and runs in the open field.

Belfry has 3 rushers over 100 yards each... gain right around 500 total yards.

Russell will be back! Now we just add fuel to the rivalry as we know the enxt time these two teams meet Russell will now be the team out for blood. Great, great program! Just this year Belfry was better.

Way to go Pirates!!!!

Amazing play by the ENTIRE Pirate team!!!

I love being a Pirate!!
#9
Awesome performance by the Pirates tonight! I am so proud of these fine young men. I am still so cold and I can't talk from yelling my lungs out, but I don't care!

Just tongue in cheek comments regarding some of the things that were suggested about this Pirate team throughout the week.... trying to serve up crow a little.
#17
I think I may cry for missing this one. I knew it would be a W for the Pirates but had no idea the score would be so drastic. Way to go Pirates. Who said Belfry wasn't as strong of a team as they had been in the past??? :dontthink

Congrats to the PIRATES, now go out and take it to the rest of the state and bring back the hardware to EASTERN KY (where it belongs).

Thanks for the support. A lot of good people from Russell and we look forward to the next meeting. Wink

Knowledgeable fans are not stunned.....

Belfry fans knew the Pirates were flat last week......and that maximum effort would be afforded this week. Haywood is a master at having teams prepared to play big games......and tonight was no exception. Belfry has the utmost respect for Russell.....but, this year....Russell was not typical "Russell".

Let's stay focused and play smart football next week against Sheldon Clark.

Hopefully, this dominating performance tonight will stop all of the silly "Raceland is a monster" talk.

man, dont you know? hes prolly passed out by now after drinkin' all week Smile

Coach McGlone said this was probably the best Belfry team he has ever coached against.

Congrats to Belfry.
#23
Belfry was completely superior in every aspect of the game. I expected Belfry to win but not in such a dominant way. Over 500 yards of total offense and less than 100 yards for Russell. Very impressive win for the Pirates. I mean this respectfully, but is Russell's district down this bad this year? For Sheldon Clark to beat Mason and Belfry's dominant win, makes one think so. This was not a Russell team of old.
#24
I agree District 8 was way down this year.

what is so stunning?.. Russell. like I said in the prediction thread, just isn't that good this year.. Maybe some of the Russell fans convinced some of you all that the Red Devil are pretty spectacular.. But the truth is the truth.. A 7-5 Russell season, is a down Russell season.. they'll be back.. but this wasn't thier year.. I predicted 48-20. IMHO, I thought the Red Devils would punch a few in on our younger guys..

Congrats to Belfry.

Anyone who knows football knows this is as close to the ultimate compliment as a Coach Haywood coached team could receive!

Congrats to Belfry.

I don't know. The 04' team was pretty good. We'll make that decision after the week of Dec 12.

That is not the same team that played Raceland The Russell team that played Raceland would have given Belfrey everything they wanted and more. This was the Russell team that played horribly against mason and Simon Kenton. I certainly did not expect Russell to get shut out though. Belfrey is definitely for real. I hope they win it all.

I think I was insulted somewhere in that post. Smile I actually meant that the score was stunning...not the outcome. I think most fans expected the game to be at least a serious challenge.
