Estill Co. @ Taylor Co. (3A 2nd Round)

No one is making excuses to losing to Estill. What I seen friday night was a whole different Powell County team. They finally put all four quarters together and they played great. Estill has a heck of a team and i see them going pretty far in the playoffs.

I dont think they are talking bout you Bobcat. Its always MR. PERFECT that always has some excuse for someting. I thought Powell would win and they should have. Powell has a good team Alot better than they get credit for.

Not that Estill needs any advice but here goes. Double Macon and watch the sweep to Thomas on the wide side of the field. That's it! Don't let your OLBs or CBs get sucked down on the inside. If they get to the corner, they are very fast. Powell got caught watching Macon & Thomas and little #3 made a huge catch 2 to be exact. Both for TDs. I wish this was at Estill. I would love to go to this game and watch but now I have to go watch Breathitt throttle Harlan...Again.

But I have to agree with Mr. Perfect. Powell played better at every aspect of the game then when they played Estill. Im not saying if the two teams would have got the second chance to plat that Powell would have came out on top but I am saying that this team improved a tremendous amount since they have played Estill. Good luck Estill in the rest of the playoffs.

I mean no disrespect to Powell County, but it is easy to look good against no so good teams....Estill is a good team and makes average teams look average. Powell is a much improved team, but they have gone from bad to average. Good luck to both teams Friday night....TC will have to play the game of their lives to pull off the upset, but it can happen if they play with the effort Powell played with last week...

You think if Powell ran all night Estill won't? Smile

Estill will roll Taylor. They are one of the worst defensive teams in the state. Sorry but Estill will be in round three and maybe against Harlan Co. BTW, why did Powell not run more if they had so much success?

Mr. Perfect you will not live up to the name this week for picking taylor over us. Big Macon is slow and lacks work ethic. His speed is no factor because he does just enough to get by. As far as Powell's play against us it was very good. They are a much improved team and had they played that way against taylor we would be having a rematch. You should be proud of Powell and Estill for commanding respect for our counties this year.

I would expect Macon to play pretty hard this week. Similar scenario to Somerset game: Estill grinds the line, grinds the clock. It is going to be cold Friday night, perhaps a little snow (if the weatherman is correct). The ball will be as hard as a Viagra Twinkie. Estill 28 Taylor Co. 12

Macon and Thomas both are forces to be dealt with! Taylor is not the #1 seed for no reason. Estill will have their hands full containing both of these guys.

How many teams have helt Breathitt Co to 7 points in Jackson in the last 20 years? I would say none and thats what Estill did this year so i think they will do OK Friday night at Taylor Co...........GO NEERS

Somerset messed them sleves up in that game just watch film they had times they could score with no one around but they had alot of turnovers and dropped passes.

It could be looked @ as undisciplined offensive play also.....Estill has a good defense but they have holes in the secondary that TC may be able to take advantage of if they can keep EC's line off of the QB. I hope TC can control the line, but I just think the loss of their captain on the o\d line will be more than TC can overcome...But we shall see......Go Cards!

I believe this game is going to be closer than people are thinking. Yea, the stats show that Estill should win easily, but I don't believe this is going to happen on Friday Night. Don't get me wrong, I am a HUGE ESTILL FAN, but Taylor County, on their home field, crowd support has that going for them. Boys of Estill....don't get over-confident!!! Anyone can have an off night and it's whoever plays the best ball that will win! Throw the stats out the window guys and get out there and play YOUR game!!!!

I have seen both teams up close first hand. Estill is the strongest football team I have seen in my coaching career.
