Gas hits $1.99
#1
At Pikeville Wal-Mart

It's about time, I sure hope it stays this way! Hopefully lower
#2
$1.77 in Lexington.

Seems like whenever East Kentucky goes down, Lexington goes down lower.

Lol, it's been under $1.99 (anywhere between $1.77 and $1.95) in Lexington/Richmond for the past two weeks, you guys are just behind.

Apparently, it still takes 2 weeks to get the news to the Eastern part of the state.

I was so excited. I took a picture and sent it to everyone lol
#11
Lets just hope that Barock Hussein Obama doesnt crash this country and send prices to $5.00 a gallon
#12
Don't even take it in that direction. Gas prices probably will go back up, not necessarily his fault you know, but they are as low right now as they have been in many, many moons so be happy.

Also CE, not funny, I seem to recall where you are from.

I am very glad that its going down and I hope it stays down.

It was a joke, no need to overreact.

Eastern KY seems to stay behind in the gas price trends. Generally, gas prices are $0.25 higher in Louisville all the time. Gas will go down in Lexington, then the next day you will see the price of gas go down in Richmond, and so on Eastward over the next few days.

I was in Pikeville the weekend of the 8th and 9th this month. When I left Richmond/Lexington, gas was at $1.85. When I got to Pikeville, gas was still $2.15 or so. It seems to take a while for the Eastern part of the state to catch on with the gas prices elsewhere. Also, Salyersville is always about $.15 to $.25 higher than Pikeville because it's one of the last stops on the Mountain Parkway.

But we can blame George Bush on everything. Just doesn't seem fair now does it. I guess the blame game ends with this term.

Calm down Turbo. I know you were joking. It does take a while for the trend to reach here. I think in part businesses charge that for longer because they know that they can. When the calls come in to change the prices they do not immediately go and do it on the pumps and signs. I've witnessed this a number of times. One service station worker told my mother that the call had came in to drop the price at the pumps but she just hadn't went out and changed it yet AS my mother was paying for her gas. Smart, huh?

And Bush was more to blame than Obama. Bush profited directly from it. I don't blame Bush for everything because not everything is under a President's control but when you are obviously directly involved with the business.... I don't think that he set the prices of crude oil or gasoline but he did profit from it.

I feel like I'm getting such a deal that I need to give them more money when I fill up. haha. I filled up my car for 14 bucks the other day and it was great. Ive always said if gas would get down to 2 dollars again I wouldn't complain, but now I'm like.. if it gets to 1.50 I wont complain.
If there is any bright spot to the poor economy its the gas prices. It seems like sooner or later, the low prices will help the economy because it will eventually allow people to travel more. Maybe not right now, but eventually, after everyone gets their bills caught up! lol

I was actually thinking about calling someone over that.
Everytime I would drive to Richmond, I would notice prices were 20 cents higher in Salyersville than in Paintsville. But then, as I'd drive farther, gas prices would go back down.
Plus there is alot of traffic that goes through Salyersville.
I wonder if the gas stations noticed that.
Hmmm. Rolleyes

It actually went down today in Salyersville. It is now 2.15....its a start but it is getting ridiculous how they are always higher here, but im not complaning 2.15 is better than 4.05 any day
