Best RB in the mountains
#61
im still gonna say that Kyle Howell should be on that list considering that she is on a team that is 1-7 and he is #3 in class 1-A and #15 in the state thats pretty good to me

C.Clair Wrote:Yeah I also see Channing going D1. But Im not sure as a running back. Alot of the running backs you see now a days are under 6 foot. Channing is 6 foot 2 and 220 lbs. He would make on heck of a linebacker at UK!

Didnt his older brother, Chase play at UK for a little bit. What bout his other Colby is he playing any where now?
#63
I think that Chase tried to walk on at UK but I maybe wrong. Coldy is just going to school from what I know. Colby did get some offers from smaller school but didnt take them

Travis isn't near as fast as Adams, don't get me wrong like them both have a lot of respect for both teams, but Adams may be the fastest back in the mtns.
I'm tired of hearing about money, money, money, money, money. I just want to play the game, drink Pepsi, wear Reebok -Shaquille O'Neal

Channing reminds me of Greg Little from UNC.

Channing Fugate.

Could Fugate possibly play Safety in college?

Matt Lentz, UK's current starting safety was a H.S. QB. Fugate appears to be in the 4.6 range speed wise, he also has good hands and can lay the wood.

I would say it is very possible. I also think that TE is a possibility. He could be a RB, but I would say that would depend on what school he goes to.
#69
Fugate and Greer dominate in the mountains!
#70
Fugate is getting to be a D-1 Player but not yet..........he is in the low 4.7 speed.....Linebacker would be best i think.....
#71
After watching him on youtube, Caleb Watkins has to be ranked up there. Kid is big and can fly.
#72
pound for pound lol i like Ivan Lee. not the fastest, but has good speed(as seen v. SC out running the whole team) Without a doubt the hardest hitting back in the Mtn.'s. Still is putting up great numbers while sharing the load with 2 other great backs(One being Thomas Varney EKU's # 4 back).
#73
Fugate is a great player. He'll absolutely punish you.

Fritts and Watkins are probably your two best running backs but Fritt's is hurt.

Watkins ran something like a 4.47 at UK camp and is a man child.

Nathaniel Gilliam is a bad boy too.

LB or tight end, IMO.

Is Fritts as quick as Watkins?? I saw a tape of Watkins on youtube outrunning Hunter Adams on a play.
#76
devin varney- young kid from belfry, great running back

thomas varney- belfry running back who can lay out defenders

ivan lee- best running back around kentucky

Fritts has lateral quickness and good football sense. His forty was timed at the same UK camp at 4.78.

HE didn't show that magic at Bell.

You can type in Channing Fugate on youtube and there is about 5 or 6 highlight videos.

no way. fugate's fast, but it takes him about 10 yards to get full speed.

How many of these other RB's mentioned have played against Bell?

I saw his too and honestly Watkins tape is more impressive. He's got more explosive game changing speed IMO from seeing their videos.

Ive not had the priveledge of seeing Fugate play so I won't say one or the other is better. However, I have saw highlights on Sports OT, youtube, and all of that good stuff. Fugate is what you call a dominant high school player. Since I'm a Corbin fan, I'll liken him to a poor man's Jarrod Lawson. I don't know if he had the strength but they are very similar.

Watkins on the other hand, seems to be the total package. He has unbelievable strength and quickness. He also has another gear in the speed department. I think Watkins would be the better college prospect between the two. Don't get me wrong, a coach wouldn't have any room to complain with either of them.

Anyone wanna get into the best junior running back in the mountains? Channing vs. Thomas Varney? I'll take #9 Belfry any day...

Belfry0304 Wrote:Anyone wanna get into the best junior running back in the mountains? Channing vs. Thomas Varney? I'll take #9 Belfry any day...

I have said it before about Thomas, I believe he's is about the best all-around football player around. Channing has a big size advantage, but Thomas is quicker and faster and will lay the pads, as will Fugate. Fugate may be the top RB in the mountains. I will give him that, but Thomas can catch and throw and kick and his instinct for the game is what first caught my attention. I would love to have a team with both of these players on it. IMHO,I believe these two will face each other in the state semis at the CAM on December 5th. That "potential" game would be worth watching.

Caleb Watkins and Ryan Fritts are juniors too

They are both dandies. Let's see. Watkins and Fritts and Fugate and Varney all in the same dream backfield. Am I asking for too much. Is this possible? Ha Ha.
#88
Thomas Varney can run inside, run outside, catch, pass, punt, kick XP's, kickoff, return punts, return kickoffs, intercept passes and bring them back, and create fumbles with his ability to stick you on defense. The kid, literally, has a very good chance on every single play to change the game. The kid is averaging over 15 yards per touch this season, maybe even higher if you factor in his punt and kickoff returns.

He is Belfry's equivolant to Percy Harvin.
#89
I know that the Fugate kid is pretty good but i dont understand why people are making him out to be like a god or something? He's a awsome player against not so good defenses but when u put him up against the likes of JC and Bell or even Belfry he dont have quite the numbers he regulary put up not even close so I just dont inderstand?

Plus the backs from JC.......Chase and Nate put up consistant numbers against good teams.
As does Belfry and Bell!
#90
No one on here has mentioned Ryan Fritts from Corbin. I know that he is out with an injury but, he has the best lateral moves of anyone I have seen in awhile.
What is really scary is that he has been playing with a torn acl since 8th grade. It was not all the way torn but what will he do when he is 100%. Watkins and Fritts WILL be the best RB duo in the Mountains next year. Fugate is the best now.
