Prestonsburg wins on Homecoming night. The Pikeville offense just couldn't get anything going.
Tons of penalties by both sides in this game as well.

I almost called this on the money..
Good game back for Craynon with 4 touchdowns dont look for Prestonsburg to let that Beechwood loss hold em back.
CONGRATS CATS!

Congrats P-burg on shutting Pikeville out. How did Setser do for Pburg?

Congrats, P-Burg way to pull it back together.

Prestonsburg looked exceptionally well. Allen Craynon looked to be back to his old self tonight and the Blackcat D did a great job slowing down Mr. Harmon.
Congrats Blackcats now lets go and take down Cooper!

any stats for pikeville? was their game plan the same as usual? by the score it sounds like it.

It's really sad to see how down Pikeville actually is. It wouldn't surprise me if the Blackcat defense didn't give up over 100 total yards, when the Blackcat defense is giving up 216 rushing yards per game. We didn't really throw the ball tonight mostly because we didn't have to as the running game was tremendous with the 1-2 punch of Craynon & Setser.
Prestonsburg's defense did a great job tonight besides the 40 or 50 yard by Daniel Harmon, as Austin McKinney, Michael Crow, Seth Setser, and Clay Jamerson played really well.
If I had to complain about anything tonight it would be the amount of penalties Prestonsburg had. Their is no excuse for this, our coaches teach enough discipline for them not to make these types of mental mistakes.

No stats, but Pikeville ran the ball the whole game, mostly just simple run plays up the middle and some tosses to Harmon.

The WPRG total offensive stats were
Pikeville- 99 yards (100 rushing) (-1 passing)
Prestonsburg - 385 yards (not sure but I think they had something like 35 passing yards)

Thanks for the stats, this pretty much sums up how the game went.

I think the Pikeville vs. Paintsville game this year will be very interesting to watch, that's for sure.

I agree. Could be game of the Week.
Also In 5A district 8 Clay vs Whitley for a district title and Perry Central vs North Laurel for a playoff spot.

Sorry didn't see this post before I last logged out.
No. I don't think that anyone in district 8 can compete with Hazard. Pikeville has athleticism but their offense isn't very good and has trouble putting points on the board. As for Hazard, they can score on nearly every possession against most 1A teams.

Well the non district schedule is officialy over for us (Thank God!). Now we focus on our district. All the meaningless games are over.

HAIL PIKEVILLE! Wrote:Well the non district schedule is officialy over for us (Thank God!). Now we focus on our district. All the meaningless games are over.
Very true. IMO Pikeville players need to play with more pride. I thought that they come out and just layed down for Prestonsburg tonight after halftime. Pikeville is a school with way to much tradition for them to come out and lay down for a rival whether that be Belfry, Prestonsburg, etc. They have a big line and enough athleticism to keep games respectable against the teams that are just flat out better.
Hopefully Pikeville's non-district schedule has made them ready for a playoff run.
Best of luck to the Panther's on the rest of the season!

When was Pikeville ever a homecoming game? I think it is a shame that Daniel Harmon has to end his career like this. This kids was suspose to be a D-1 athlete. I think if he were at Shelby Valley he would have had one heck of a season.

Copely better start packing his bags.
And he can blame his exit on Coach Jackson. Jackson destroyed the Pikeville program...
