FINAL: Hazard 16 PBURG 14... WOW
#1
Good Job Bulldogs.. Maybe the district goes through Hazard this year.
#2
Congrats Hazard.. i heard on the radio that Shaffer may have pulled his hamstring and had to come out of the game
#3
Didn't see this one coming. Confusedhock:
#4
This was the first message that I got when I got on IM...it is a MAJOR shocker!....But I heard that Hazard is STRONG....looks like they are showing it 8)
#5
WOW!!! Cant wait for sports overtime to see the highlights of this one! Congrats to Hazard on what im sure was a hard fought victory 8)

Sounded like a great game, I finished listening to this on my way home from Allen Central this evening. Didn't Hamilton fumble inside the Hazard 10 in the final minutes of the game? I believe he did but I may have misunderstood the radio announcer for 95.5. You can't blame this game on one play though, Hazard is a strong team as is Prestonsburg year in and year out. I just wish I wouldn't have wasted my $4 on a blow out.

Wow Cap_PDT_0:

I'm a bit speechless right now....

Congrats Hazard
#8
what was the final score of the AC/Paintsville game..

TIA
#9
i dont know what to say, its p-burg down this year or something?
#10
Well Hazard is for real and the frontrunner for the district and regional title....congrats to the Dawgs.
#11
Hazards defense, especially thier run defense was strong.
#12
Don't really know what to say about this one. Although it doesn't suprise me, P-burg always struggles in the opener.

The fumble wasnt inside the Hazard 10, it was on P-burg's side of the field. Hazard isn't all that strong, but Olinger suprised everyone, he is a great QB and P-burg struggled to contain him.

P-burg hopefully will get things together next week in practice just like they did last year. Good Luck to both teams was a hard faught game.

Not taking anything away from Hazard, but I don't know how many times on the sweep or any play in that matter there were missed blocks.

Hazard must be strong. They had a blowout win last week and a big win over the Class AA Blackcats tonight.....looks like their pretty strong to me,....IMO

Hazard isn't a bad team, but without Olinger they would struggle. When he was out tonight there offense didn't move.

Did P'burg fumble the abll alot, it seems neither offense was clicking at all by the score.

I think P-burg had 2 TO's, a fumble and a INT. Hazard had a couple more then P-burg.
#18
there were alot of 3 and outs for Pburg.. tonight. Hazard also blowed a couple of chances to extend the lead. Had turnover in pburg territory and another big play was called back due to block in the back. But sounded like a hard fought game on the radio. Pburg was never out of the game. They had a chance to get the ball back on 3rd and 2 with about a min to go and Hazard coverted and was able to run out the clock.
#19
I'm shocked...
#20
I honestly thought this game was over after P-burg scored on the first play from the line of scrimmage.
#21
But Hazard isnt a fluke. right now they have to be over all favorites to win the district unless Pikevile has a strong showing tomorrow.
#22
I'd pick Hazard as the favorites to win the Region right now the way theyre playing.
#23
I think everybody but people from Hazard are shocked with this outcome. This team must of really hit the weights hard in the off season. Because this is practically the same bunch of players the South Floyd had 50-12 last year at halftime. Not only SF but most of the district dominated them. Major turn around in one year.. Congrats to the Dogs on a 2-0 start.

Well I am like blackcat I thought the game was over and was going to be a blow out after the 1st play of the game. Peters took off from the line of scrimmage and never looked back he wasnt touched i dont think. And after that Hazard done a great job clogging the middle and not letting Hamilton run it up the gut. Hazard's QB is the real deal, he is FAST, and has a great arm, Hazard also didnt seem to be tired towards the end of the game. Dave Shaffer Pburgs QB, The team Doctor and team Physical Therapist, thinks he pulled his hamstring, IDK how long he will be out, but I went over to the sidelines and talked ot him and he was really upset not getting to play. After Dave went out Pburg went down hill from there. Dave was a huge factor on defense he was making plays right and left, he was coming from across the field to make tackles from the DE position. While I was on the side lines Dave and I threw the ball and he was throwing fine, he just couldnt run, or jog. But I think he will be back at the Ashland game. If a team has a fast QB all they have to do is run him Pburg cannot contain the QB unless he runs up the middle. Congrats Hazard on a fine hard foguht victory, I was proved wrong once again I think I am going to quit predictiing games and see what happens Smile

Keep us updated on Shaffer Football. I hope he gets back in action quickly..
#26
P'Burg will miss him dearly...the Blackcats have some big road games all in the next 3 weeks...all three of those teams are tough and on their home field.

@ Pikeville 11/2

@ Paintsville 11/9

@ Ashland 11/16

Pikeville/Pburg-coin flip could go either way
Paintsville/Pburg-Pburg wins
Ashalnd/Pburg-Pburg losses

I dont know if we can beat Pikeville this year. I do think Hazard is the best team in that class A district this year. i will be looking forward to wathcing Pikeville and Hazard play. Do any of you all know where the panther/bulldog game is played.

The game is at Hazard....I agree Hazard is the team to beat right now but Pikeville has beat Hazard many times over in Hazard when I thought the Dawgs would win.
#29
I'm sure Dave will be back by Ashland.. Somehow

I was very impressed with the play of Hazards QB and their defense. Hazard looks like a totally different team then they did last season
