Nice win P'burg

Sounded like a good tough game. Lawrence are playing the big boys tough this year.

The thing to realize in this game is that Pburg played with 4 of their starters! I can't wait to watch a fully healthy pburg team...

heres your credit they have a really good team and just lack a little bit of putting it all together for a win. pburg cant afford to have 4 fumbles in one game, most teams who fumble the ball four times do not win.

I can't wait to watch p-burg actually play...haven't got to see them yet..

Congrats to the Blackcats and all their fans. Looks like you guys are for real and will have a great shot at making a run for the Pizza Box.
I miss the days when Russell and Pburg met in the play-offs each year.

Prestonsburg did not come to play tonight, they fumbled the ball 4 times, like blackcatjt mentioned, and they were without 4 starters and 1 key reserve. But I don't want to make excuses, Lawrence County come to play and it showed.
Hats off to P-burg receiver Austin Gearheart, who played outstanding tonight.
Congrats Blackcats! keep your heads high Bulldogs, your tough non-district schedule will pay off.

So who did Pburg have not to start and why?
09-20-2008, 04:02 AM
Allen Craynon, Zak Key, Dalton Fulks, CC Thompson, and Josh Blackburn all to injuries.
09-20-2008, 12:15 PM
Don't forget about Joseph Jamerson, he played huge last week against Bath Co..

I think Pburg came ready to play but LC just caught them off guard. Congrats to both teams.

I Decided To Go To One Lc Game This Year Just To See How They Were Doing. I Came Away Lopsided Cause Very Impressed With Our Kids Their Heart And Talent. Not Impressed At All With Coaching Staff And The Play Calling. Even P'burgs Coaching Staff. Lc Had To Many Chances To Win And Come On All Those Chances And You Can't Come Up With Some Way Of Getting In The Ez. And Besides That Way To Many Wanna Be Coaches On The Sideline Don't Blame The Kids Wouldn't Know Who To Listen To. And P'burgs Play Calling Come On You All Could Have Slaughtered Us If You Would Have Thrown The Ball More. I Was Impressed With Lc Defense Up Front But Secondary Really Needs Some Work. Really Miss Coach Williams At Least Chuke Coached Team Would Have Scored More In One Half Than Lc Has All Season.

Well to start with they did what they wanted to do for most of the game and that was keep P-burg offense off the field... They had there chances yes but you cant predict when a kid is going to lose there footing that stopped a scoring drive late in the game..... We have one **** of a coaching staff so shut your mouth about that crap now.... I dont see you out there doing anything.. Its fans like you that I wish would just stay away from the program all together.... And as far as chuke the choke williams I am glad he isnt around the kids anymore.

First off, I was not making excuses...I was saying that it was awesome that pburg won, and without 6 key players.

Congrats P burg

Too many coaches? Number of coaches has nothing to do with anything.
Sure hope you give this team and staff more of a chance than you have so far, because you're going to miss watching a program grow up before your eyes.
Besides that, with support like you have given in this post, the team probably doesn't miss you when you're not there anyway.

No problem giving credit, but the fact of the matter is : p-burg played without about seven players, five of which were starters. P-burg turned the ball over 4 times. Field position favored Lawrence County all night, but the dawgs still LOST ! :howdy:

That's all part of the game tho. Two weeks ago when we played belfry to the wire one of there touchdowns came off a fumble first play of the game. Injuries and fumbles are part of the game so theres no excuses. I can sit here all day and make excuses about turnovers we had four against North Laurel which killed us and we had a 65 yard touchdown called back for holding. P-burge and LC both played hard so idk why u have to make up a bunch of excuses why lc stayed in the game. LC stayed in the game because we were physical all night end of discussion and most of them fumbles were because of our players running in and stripping the ball out.

LC has a **** of a ball team. Yeah theyre 0-4, but they are the best 0-4 team in the state hands down. And i Know thats not a title to be proud of, but they play a pretty tough schedule. I dont see LC losing many more if any this season. Does anyone Know what the rest of their schedule is?

It doesnt get any easier. Imo we have the toughest schedule in the mountains.
Boyd
Russell
Rown
Greenup
Brethitt
Letcher

Anyone could makes excuses for anything they want but still at the end of the day it was a hard fought battle by both teams.

"Strength of Schedule" should be judged on a relative basis. Central is a "top 10" 5A program.
As such, I'd give the nod to Lawrence Co.. As a matter of fact, I think Lawrence Co. went entirely too far with who they played this year. Next year, maybe it works.

Three of those I think favor Lawrence Co. outright (Boyd, Rowan, and Greenup). And...the Bulldogs could match up well with Russell and Letcher Co.. Breathitt Co. will be tougher IMO, because the Bobcats run and throw well out of the spread (has been the Lawrence Co. defense's achilles heel).
Bottom line... I wouldn't be shocked to see Lawrence win 4 or 5 of their remaining games.
