I think that Harlan has to be considered the favorite in this game based on how each team is playing at this point of the season. If Breathitt does not come out and open up the offense as they have done effectively for years they will be beaten by 20 points or more. This game has some big-time meaning as far as the playoff seeding is concerned. The winner will more than likely facr Garrard County in the first round of the playoffs, and the loser will more than likely face Taylor County, Wayne County, or Somerset.

Black Bears win because our defense is just that good.
Throw in the adrenaline of our very first ever home game and the Black Bear Nation out in full support and you got yourselves a hand full. This should be a good game. The Bears are improving every game.

Can someone tell me if I am right or wrong as far as the playoff matchups are concerned...Does Breathitt's district playing Somerset's district in the playoffs? How does a tie breaker work as far as teams having the same record in the district in the regular season?

Points scored.... points allowed

Taylor County beat Somerset in one of the biggest upsets in the state this year, but has a couple difficult games against Garrard and Wayne County coming up. As of now they are 2-0 in the district, tied with Wayne County for the district lead. Somerset and Garrard County are 1-1.

District 5 will play District 6.
If two teams have the same record, the winner is determined by who won in the regular season.
If two or more teams are tied, you add up the number of wins of defeated opponents through four games for each.

I think Harlan has looked impressive against inferior teams and should be favored in this game against the Bobcats because Breathitt has been playing with their heads up their rears, but lets not put too much stock in Harlan beating the teams they have beaten.

You're right BrahmaBull, we shouldn't get carried away and let's not forget it how close you came to not being here able to poke fun back and forth with us Black Bear fans. Glad Breathitt squeeked out and you were able to post tonight!:p
I'm only kidding with ya. The Black Bear's know we have a tough opponent next week and we fans have been anxiously awaiting this game. All do respect to the Bobcats.

I had taken back my bet prior to the game, but it would have been bad had stuck with it. I would not bet on Breathitt to do anything this year until they show that they can play on the same level they have been playing at in seasons past. If the play-calling does not change Breathitt will be just another average 3A team and be out in the 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs.

Harlan wins it!

I have watched both teams this year and i think Breathitt is a better ball club faster and stronger.

I'm taking the Bears in this one, reason why; the defense is INSANE 14 sacks in 2 games, I mean thats just crazy! I also think with it being their first home game that they will be pumped up. I just hope they keep their heads on straight, Breathitt won't be an easy team to beat, even if it is at home for HC. I'll go with them by 1 TD.

Breathitt by 10

This should be a very good game but ill take Harlan Co. in this one. Good luck to both teams the rest of the way

I dont care who you play thats alot of sacks.

If Breathitt remains one dimensional and drop passes then Harlan County wins this game.
HC's size and depth are a HUGE ADVANTAGE over Breathitt, but the Bobcats have more skill and big game experience than HCHS. If the Breathitt offense shows up that played Estill County last night, then harlan County takes this one going away. Conversely, if Breathitt can spread the field and catch passes I see them winning by a couple TD's.

I am not saying that Harlan does not have a good defense, just that the numbers they are putting up on defense have been against teams that are not very good offensive football teams.

I see HCHS passing defense getting better and better. If the teams that showed up the second half at Lee comes to play. Harlan wins and by 2-3 TD's.

I think Breathitt will win this game. This is probably the toughest match for Harlan so far.
