Pitiful!

Could be a long regular season for Pikeville.
09-06-2008, 01:04 AM
Pikeville had 7 or 8 turnovers from what I gather....

Why so many turnovers by Pikeville every game?

Agree jetpilot and EKU... pitiful... and turnovers will kill...Regroup if you can Pikeville and fans leave Copley alone...The glory days have been gone a long time and you have to let the program get rebuilt.

I heard that rebuilding 3 years ago.

I hate it for Pikeville, they have a lot of talent on that team. But from what I gathered last weeks game, they just don't have the line to go with a stable of backs. Keep working though and don't give up, the brutal schedule will help you guys out as long as you keep everybody healthy.

I saw the loss coming, but I didn't think it would be this bad.

Didn't see it or hear it UK, but from the sound of it, it was lack of offense (possibly due to the line) and turnovers.

Pikeville must be horrible!

The last time was in the Pike County Bowl in 2006 by Henry Clay 31-0, and before that was by Belfry in 2004 at Pikeville, 30-0.

yikes...i would have hated to drive to this game and watched the slaughter.

Last week I read on this site about Defense line and linebackers losing the game, but the fact is you don't win games by turning the ball over.
Last week 4 fumbles, one interception
This week... numerous fumbles, 1 snap over punter's head, first kick off not picked up by anyone. THAT WAS JUST FIRST HALF.
2 fumbles in a game against a good team = WILL USUALLY EQUAL A LOSS
3 or more fumbles against a good team = WILL ALWAYS EQUAL A LOSS

The line was giving no time for the backfield to do anything. Harmon was tackled twice before he could get to the ball, and blake was tackled numerous times before he could hand the ball off. And it looked to me like the defense just decided to give up around halftime. The effort was a complete 180 from what I saw saturday. Congrats to Ashland.

Looks like 5-5 at best for Pikeville with some really good teams left on the schedule and the district.

Wow..Congrats Ashland.

Not really that much of a surprise.

Pikeville is too predictable and not a very hard nosed team.

From what i saw at the game the line was letting alot through, Harmon was shut down early and often. IMO that was Ashlands main priority. So pville started throwing it and got some yardage before an INT.
And yet the panthers still have Lexington Cath and Belfry under their belts.
and i think copley can still finish out the season well under his good program

Congrats Ashland.

Congrats Ashland. Nice rebound from the usually predictable opening loss to Raceland! lol I predicted this win as it was not even a hard decision. In fact, I doubt that Raceland would be able to beat Ashland next week if they played. Also, 5A vs. 1A usually equals loss.
