Class A District 8
#1
Pikeville
Paintsville
South Floyd
Phelps
Allen Central
Betsy Layne

How do you think everything will pan out?

I will answer mine later, just like to see whatever one thinks.

Some things that I consider.
Pikeville new coach/ Harmon
Paintsville new coach/Dorder
Allen Central Josh Prater, and the Crowder Twins
Phelps new coach lost a lot of seniors
Betsy Layne good group of seniors, looked good passing.

South Floyd should be ahead of AC and BL...With AC, BL, and Phelps fighting for the last playoff spot...IMO, AC will take that last spot.

Can there be a weaker district anywhere in the state?
#5
Pikeville & Paintsville are head and shoulders above the other four teams. Pikeville should sweep threw the district and grab the 1 seed for the playoffs, Paintsville should be able to get the 2 seed and its a dogfight for the 3 & 4 seed. IMO, Allen Central will get the 3 seed with South Floyd getting the 4 seed.

Best of luck to each team!

I kinda agree with you there Blackcat! But I will say it will look like this:

1. Pikeville
2. Paintsville
3. Allen Central
4. Betsy Layne
-----------------
5. South Floyd
6. Phelps

You have anything to add to the thread? Keep trying to figure out how those CATS scores work.Smile
To answer the question of this thread, Pikeville probably will have their starters out before halftime of all their district games.

wait and see, the bobcats are on the move

they will play until the whistle blows, maybe even sometimes after.

I'm all for being optimistic, BUT........

2007 @ Betsy Layne

Paintsville 54
Betsy Layne 18

Let alone the fact that when Blair and Case graduated, so to did nearly 80% of the Bobcats offensive production
#12
Paintsville lost a lot more than Betsy Layne did.

J.D. Vanhoose( i think is his first name)
He was Paintsville last year.

J.V. would have been a little different.

Wait and see, the lovable bobcats are going to be productive.

Paintsville returns their leading rusher Nehemiah Doderer and their top receiver Tyler Deaton who accounted for nearly 1000 all prupose yards between them.

Both players also double as two of their top defensive starters, along with
Patrick Butcher, Mason Castle, and Ricky Hall who also return.

Paintsville returns quite a bit actually...enough that it would be a complete shock to me if Betsy Layne made up 3 TD's off their deficit, let alone all of them.
#14
Who is going to be Paintsville quarterback? I am sure they have players, but I just think this will be a good year for the bobcats, I could be wrong though.

Tyler Deaton may have to throw a pass and then go catch it his self. Is there any other option at QB than Deaton? If they could find a QB to throw to Deaton, they would be better off. Deaton will be a very good receiver. What about the line at Paintsville? How will it be? I know that everyone will start the rumor that Corey Adams will be the QB but I don't see his dad letting him take a chance on getting hurt and ruining his baseball future.

so paintsville fans, hook us up with some info, I am going to go with this district could be won by three or maybe even four teams.

I guess we will see.

Not trying to disrespect you but Pikeville is 3 to 4 touchdowns better than everyone else in their district, sorry but you know that its true. Paintsville doesn't have a line or a quarterback, Betsy Layne is to inexperienced, Allen Central doesn't have a line or defense, and South Floyd doesn't have the defense or the athletes to stop Pikeville. Pikeville is bigger, stronger, and faster than the other teams in there district.

The ONLY team in district 8 that stands a chance at beating Pikeville this season is Paintsville, and thats it!

Come on Blackcat alum, 3 or 4 touchdowns, thats crazy, Pikeville has Daniel Harmon thats it. I know he's probably the best player in Kentucky, but he will not be able to do it all. He will get the ball a thousand times a game, I just dont see them do good with the tough schedule they have and , am I saying the bobcats will beat them, I dont know, but I am saying the panthers will not have a typical panther season.

You up for for a friendly wager? Big Grin

If Pikeville beats Betsy Layne by 3 TD's or more you change your username to "The Pink Princess" for a week, if Betsy Layne keeps it within 3 TD's of the Panthers I will change mine to the same.

Haha, Harmon is good but not the best in Ky. And no, Harmon is not all they have. Josh Mullins is just as fast or faster than Harmon. Taylor Ratliff saw good playing time last year, and is a solid player. Ross McCoy will be another good sophomore. And no offense, but it doesn't take a typical Panther team to beat BL by 3+ TDs.

I am glad that you guys at BL are overlooking us after we beat you 52-0 last year.. Harmon IS a great player but he is not all we have. Trey Branham was the best all around lineman at KCU's lineman camp. We return a QB who started around 5 games last year. We return 2 starting D-lineman, our entire secondary, and two LB's who started have of the games last year.

I agree Train, Trey should have a great season. talk about speed # 23-24-38could start tailback anywhere in the district, 23 and 38 didnt get the touches they should have last year IMO , but my opinion they will have one of fastest backfeilds around if used properly, Pikeville is looking at a very tough non district schedule, gonna be a tuff season. Go panthers
#25
Betsy Layne doesnt overlook anyone, I am just saying this district is not the strongest in the state, and each team in the district has their weaknesses, or the wager, lets make it a month.
#26
1. Pikeville
2. Paintsville
3. Allen Central
4. South Floyd

5.Phelps

I want some of what youre smokinCool BL has never in history gotten within three TDs of Pikeville. What makes you think thats gonna change? Are you guys gonna sneak Randy Moss into a BL uniform next year or something?
