I saw this and was shocked! But then again, you could tell he was very uncomfortable during the US Open. His knee was clearly bothering him. I hope the best for him, and I'm sure he will be back and ready to go for the 2009 season.

Worst part is that he wont be playing in the Ryder Cup at Valhalla in Louisville.
Man, is he awesome tho, or what. Gives us more excitement in one weekend than all other golfers for a whole season. Hope he comes back strong from this, unlike a couple in the past who have made it back, but were never the same, namely Big Ernie.

I would agree 100% there. This will be the first time in his career that he will miss a major tournament. Sucks he will be out of the Ryder in L'ville and the British and PGA. Hopefully we get to see him and his pursuit of Nicklaus next season.
