Jordan Crawford Leaves Indiana University
#1
Hmmmmmm. With him wearing a UK Barnstorming Tour T-shirt to Joe's NBA pre draft camp, kinda makes you wonder what Jordan and UK have up their sleeve. Kinda interesting.

This is good news for UK but IU will really have a tough time next year.
#3
Interested to see what happens in the next few days with Crawford and UK.
#4
I seen on Sportscenter that the only returning players for IU combine to average 1.6 points. If we lose to them next year I'll stop being a UK fan.
.
#5
Yeah really!
#6
hope crawford comes to UK and Sampson should be banned from college campuses

I don't think the whole t-shirt thing is any indication as to where he'll be going to school next year.

Like to see him wearing Blue and White next year.

He is much better than Joe and more of a team player.

I don't know about much better, but he is more of a team player!

He is definitely not much better and Joe Crawford was a team player, the only reason people say he wasnt is because he had games in which he had to take over and be the man to score because no one else could. Jordan would definitely be able to fill the point guard slot but thats if he even comes to UK. Dont jump the gun just yet on him coming to UK.

Crawford was never a team player out of all 4 years at UK. He made sure he got his before anyone else. You should watch a game before you comment on it.

So true.

Jordan Crawford is a team player, but Joe Crawford literally had to take over and try to score because no one else could besides Ramel, and even he was iffy at times!

How do you know? are you a fortune teller?Big Grin and obviously you have no idea what you are talking about cause you said, Porter and Carter did an excellent job yourself! Porter should have went to USC and should HAVE TRIED to play football, and Carter should have went to some smaller school than UK!
#21
I mean, people can't help to think that Jordan is coming to UK, I hope he does.

I watched all the UK games, I never miss any game of UK unless something comes up. Seems you are the one that needs to watch the games, especially with a comment like you made about Porter and Carter. Whether what you said was a joke or not, you clearly have no idea of what you are talking about. Crawford and Bradley carried the team along with Patterson when he wasnt injured. They had to, there was no one else to do it, not after Gillispie ran off Legion and wouldnt play anyone else like Stewart who was a good player when given the chance. Now Jasper is gone and Patterson, if at full strength and capability will have to carry UK because I dont see all the transfers and walkons contributing all that much. Another subpar season upcoming for the cats this coming season.

:thatsfunn Another subpar season are you crazy!!!!!!!!! Im not saying the cats will be the top team in the ncaa but it will be a season were everybody looks at Kentucky and says wow they got some good young talent , I say if Meeks gets healthy then him and Patterson will have to be good leaders to the new talent and also Perry Stevenson really looked good at the end of last year so I say at best they make the sweet 16 this will be the begining of a new era last year sure wasnt.

Jordan Crawford rules out UK
By Jerry Tipton
jtipton@herald-leader.com

Former Indiana guard Jordan Crawford, the younger brother of ex-Kentucky guard Joe Crawford, expects to announce his college choice this weekend.

According to their mother, there's no chance that Jordan will follow in Joe's footsteps and play for UK.

For one thing, Kentucky did not express interest in Jordan, Sylvia Crawford said Wednesday. When asked what the family heard from UK, Sylvia Crawford said, ”Uh, well, we didn't.“

That was fine with the Crawfords, who have maintained good relations with UK's coaches, Sylvia Crawford said.

”We certainly didn't need them about anything,“ she said. ”We've been talking to the coaching staff about Joe. I know we could ask them for advice.“

Joe Crawford was picked in the second round by the Los Angeles Lakers in last week's NBA Draft.

”For the most part, we know they had a point guard coming in who is pretty highly ranked, from what Joe told us,“ Sylvia Crawford said in reference to incoming freshman DeAndre Liggins.

Jordan prefers to establish himself as independent of his older brother, Sylvia Crawford said. So Jordan was not fazed by UK's lack of interest.

”He would have been flattered by it,“ she said. ”But at the same time, he felt (UK) was Joe's. Not that he felt he couldn't live up to it. He just didn't want to pattern himself (after his older brother) for others to compare.“

Jordan cast his own considerable shadow as a freshman last season for Indiana. He averaged 9.7 points, seventh among Big Ten freshmen. He also averaged 25.3 minutes and made 36.6 percent of his three-point shots.

His transfer came in the wake of Indiana replacing Kelvin Sampson as coach with Tom Crean. NCAA penalties also loom as Indiana has self-reported rules violations in its basketball program.

Jordan is considering Xavier, Cincinnati, Texas, Oklahoma and Central Michigan. He's ”leaning more than heavily“ toward one of those schools, his mother said.

She declined to identify which school while saying an announcement should come during the July 4 holiday weekend.

IU gives up 2 scholarships

Indiana will give up two basketball scholarships for the upcoming season in anticipation of penalties related to the NCAA's Academic Progress Rate, assistant athletic director Frank Cuervo confirmed Wednesday.

Indiana already has given up one scholarship for 2008-09 because of the phone-call scandal under former coach Kelvin Sampson. Indiana still is awaiting the NCAA's decision on the allegations against Sampson.
