#1
Clay County star quarterback Zach Lewis is obviously catching some eyes throughout the state... hopefully he can go D1.

He is a very good QB with a strong arm. He has the potential to be a very good QB at the next level.
#3
This kid has a rocket arm should do well at the next level.
#4
love to see him at uk next year, it would be pretty bad to pass tim couchs passing records and not even get offered at uk.
#5
I played against him and i will say he is a machine....lol

What record did he break?
#7
Zach is pretty dang good but hes no Tim Couch by no means.

I would like to say I have seen him play several times and think he is very good, but I also have watched Charlie Banks for many years. My belief is Charlie Banks is better. Reason being look what Zack had in his arsonial compared to Charlie. Look at the difference last year.

Very, very good quarterback and it's not hard at all for me to imagine him playing at the next level.
#10
well thats good for him, congrats

I think Zach has all the tools it takes to play D1 football except the size. Zach is about 6'1 or 6'2. I think in the right system he could excel. If UK doesn't happen I see Zach playing at Marshall, Western, or Eastern.
#12
I havent seen him play football but i have seen him play baseball. He is a heck of a baseball player with a great arm. Im sure hes an exceptional athlete on the football field and wish him luck in his career.

Are any colleges looking at him?
#14
Anyone have any stats on this kid? I've heard he's just the product of the clay county system, but ive never seen him play so i cant judge. From what is on here he has a laser arm, any stats to go along with that?

This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to me. Lewis plays at Clay County, not Highlands, not Trinity, not St.X.... he has nothing in his arsenal aside from mediocrity. How many other players from Clay County has went on to play college football somewhere?

I like Banks alot..he's gritty... but when it comes to passing the ball and potential on the enxt level there is no comparison.

How could stats pove he has a laser arm? I don't think that statiticians keep velocity of throws or a radar gun at football games.

his arm is actually slightly above average for a high school player, hes an above average player who has great stats against weak opponents. someone will give him a chance based on his stats but hes not uk material.

Ive seen Zach play 3 times, hes deff got the tanlet to play at the next level...Congrats Zach!

Do you think he is D-1 potential and is he getting recruited by anyone?
#20
i think he can play college ball but he is not D1 material, he's to small, doesnt have a big arm, and plays slow, mentally hes great but hes just not very athletic.

That also makes absolutely no sense.

Lewis= D-1 looks..definately will be playing on Saturdays
Banks= Will be NAIA at best due to his size.... not too hard to understand

I never asked if he had a good arm, I just asked for some stats to compare him with other qb's. And yes stats would somewhat show what kind of arm he has, if he has a high completion % then it could show he has the ability to put balls where most qb's couldnt, and his td's to int comparison could show his descion making. Stats talk, period.

He threw for 3866 yards, 32 TDS, and 9 INT.

banks is as big if not bigger than lewis and is more athletic. i personally dont think either will go D-1 but they'll get an oppurtunity to play college ball somewhere and that is all that matters.

So you are saying that Dobb and the rest of those hands were nothing.

I have had the pleasure of watching Lewis play several times over the last few years as Clay Co is in the same district as us. The truth is the kid more than lives up to the hype. He is for real. He combines a great arm with an understanding of the position that is off the charts.
I have seen all the QB's in this part of the state. He plays at another level. Here is just one example of the type of player he is off the field also. My family went to watch Clay play Letcher in the playoffs last year. My son, age 10, was so impressed with Lewis he wanted to meet him after the game. We had to stand in line because their were at least 50-75 Letcher fans there showing their appreciation. After the tough loss, Lewis still made time to meet and shake everyone's hand, including my sons.

Watched him at EKU's 1st senior day. There were around 12-15 QB's there. He and Jimmy Joe Morgan from Leslie Co. were the 2 best there. I'd say Morgan was little better, because he was dead on with his deep balls. I think those 2 are in a battle for a scholarship there. Hood critiqued every throw Morgan and Lewis threw. Didn't do that to any of the other QB's.

Hope he ends up at UK next year.
