Why only 5 innings??? This game should not have been counted as a complete game!!! The KHSAA handbook states:

H) Complete Game
In regular season, and postseason, a complete game of 6 1/2 or
7 innings must be played unless other National Federation rules
apply to the situation. All games in a seeded district must be
played to completion.

The only time 5 innings must be played is in a 10 run mercy rule situation.

That is not true. You have to take the same considerations that they do in college. In college if you just play one game, you play 9 innings. If it is a double header then you play two 7 inning games. In high school you can set it up the same way. If you play one game it is a 7 inning game and if you play a double header you have the choice to make it two 5 inning games. Games can be counted after 5 innings have been completed. It happens all the time.

If you would go to a KHSAA rules clinic you would know that there is no such thing as a "5 inning game." There are insurance liability issues that go along with not playing 7 innings. Just because it is done all the time, doesn't mean it is right or legal.

Well they are counted, and I don't have to go to a rules meeting to know that. How do you even know that I haven't attended the rules clinic? Games are played in 5 innings all the time. Most of them do it because of the weather getting bad, or darkness, etc, but some schedule it so they can get more games in by playing double headers. Especially when a lot of their regular season games get cancelled due to rain. They simply try to make games up by playing double headers and making them 5 innings. It is a lot easier on teams who have a long ways to travel as well. There is nothing wrong with it at all. Regardless they are counted, and if they are counted then there must not be too much wrong with it. What liability reasons are you talking about?

Yes, but the thing that youhave to take into concederation is how many 1 run games magoffin has lost and who they have lost to. I think that they have lost 8 games by 3 runs or less against, Powell, Johnson Central, Breathitt, Letcher COunty Central, Prestonsburg, etc... Another thing is that they aren't throwing thier ACE against all these teams eigther... So they are facing some of these weaker teams throwing thier 3 and 4 pitchers when they are throwing thier best.

I guess Magoffin playing Johnson Central to a 3-1 game makes them a bad team. If you care to look they also only lost to Letcher Central by 1 run and played Breathitt and Powell County close as well. These are all according to the "experts" some of the better teams in the 14th and 15th Region. SO I will have to disagree with your statement that Magoffin is not a good team.
