Here is that way I see it...
Hazard hasn't broken any rules. Yes, they always seem to be the best team in the 14th region, but winning is a tradition there at Hazard, that is what attracts players to these types of schools. If you have a winning program then your going to get some talent at your school. Its just like North Carolina, Kentucky, Duke, UCLA, and Kansas. They have a winning tradition and thats why big time recruits are attracted to them.
As long as its not breaking the rules, then there is nothing wrong with players transferring, there just doing what they think is right for themselves, not others.

LOOKAYANNER Wrote:Oh I can get over it.:dontthink And your're right, there's others. It's just that Hazard has a LONG and illustrious history of convientent transfers. There's no way that a school with barely 300 students should or could dominate the 14th region the way Hazard has over the years. Transfers have been a large part of that legacy. The truth hurts sometimes. So get defensive and raise your trophy if it makes you feel better.ticktong
You named very few players in your previous post for such a long and illustrious history. The truth is "SMART GUY" this has happened very few times over the long and illustrious history and that's the TRUTH! Now please get over it!!

Without the Bell County connection, would Hazard have done as they did this year? No. Thus, through strategic transfers, did they gain a competitive advantage? Yes. Does that make them hard to cheer for if you are not a Hazard fan? Yes. Is Hazard the only school that goes out and gets players when it needs them? No. Is that relevant to this particular discussion? No. There is nothing to "get over" here. This is a debate between opposing sides, not the flu virus.

Eric Mullins is one to start with.

Truth be told, every successful programs get a few transfers. The jealousy comes in when my team's transfers are not as good as your teams.

Hazard hasn't done anything wrong. Just because players wanna transfer there doesn't make them the bad guys. I mean, its not like they're commiting murder or anything. If they wanna transfer, let them. Its a free country.

One other point, Whitaker is a good coach. His teams did well at Bell County.

The pretty girl with the big ego who tries to steal other girl's boyfriends says, "The other girls don't like me 'cause their jealous." The problem, though, is not jealousy; it is, actually, the disposition and actions of the girl. "Every successful program has a few transfers." Are you making my argument or yours?

Has anyone equated recruiting in high school to murder? It is a free country, but you can't just drive through red lights, that would create a very dangerous situation at intersections. Freedom doesn't have anything to do with bending the rules that are put in place to ensure competitive fairness. Again, your arguments do not address the issue: smokescreen.

My point was that Hazard isn't doing anything wrong. People are transferring there. Who cares, thats life. They have a choice on where they wanna go to school at. I mean come one, its high school. Its supposed to be the beast years of their lives. They wanna play basketball at Hazard. There is nothing you can do about it. So just get over it. And whats with the stoplight thing? Everybody knows when its red your supposed to stop.

"Red light thing" = analogy ... Again with the "get over it." Students do have a choice about where they go to school, though usually they are required to go in district, unless attending a private school, or in a county that has some sort of magnet school program. I don't think your reasons hold any kind of water as pertaining to competitive fairness.

With your pretty girl analogy. If the pretty girl (school, coach, etc.) contacts the boy its against KHSAA rules. If the boy contacts the pretty girl and follows all the KHSAA rules, no rules are broken.

Ok, and if the students can go where they want, whats the arguement? And yes, again with the get over it. If you can't handle the fact that your wrong, don't even reply. And my reasons make alot more sense than yours my friend. I'm not trying to act big in front of everynody on here like you do.

To be honest, as long as they aren't using recruiting as a method to get players like Lex Cath and other private schools, then there shouldn't be a problem with transfer athletes. If I love basketball and I want to play for a good team, I'll do what I can to go there. There is absolutely no harm in wanting to play for a good team, coach, or in front of a killer student section. Do what you think is best for yourself and not other's around you.
