Knott will be better than everyone thinks. Losing Mosley hurts them A LOT but they have the girls to step up and fill the role Megan left behind.

Looking at the 14th, Breathitt and Coach Moore should be at the top...Powell will have McFarland back in the middle, and Knott should still be able to contend for the title...
Look for Knott to even get better talent wise especially if June Buchanan does not field a girls team.

I dont think they will be as good as years past. But With Perry Central anything is possible. Seems like every year you think you get rid of the star players and one comes out of no where. Perry isn't like most of the schools in the region. They don't rebuild like everyone else does, they simply RELOAD!

Don't forget the Lady Tigers of paintsville. They only loose one starter from the team that almost knocked off PCC this past season.

You might have to put Phelps in the mix now with the two girls from Belfry transfering and you know that a certain person in that community will pull at least one more player out of WV.
Johnson Central will be the strongest in the 15th with Painstville coming in 2nd.
Pike County Central will go through a lot from now until then due to politics. Maybe even a coaching change. Who knows in Pike County.

Perry will be way down, yes they have 10 feeder schools, but no 8th graders that really will help them besides the girl that went to Buckhorn to play from Chavies, Miranda Napier. If she comes that will help some, but they will be just average or below compared to the past, but will still compete in this region because it is so weak.
Powell will be okay, they lost their leader and a great point guard, you have to have someone to handle the ball if they want to compete.
My pick is Letcher Central, they have had 10 hold back 8th graders that will be freshman and they have been playing together all year long at the new sports complex in knott county and they have shown they can play and will make a difference in this region. They should win the region hands down. Noble from Breathitt can't handle it all on her own, but they should be 2nd if she even is still at Breathitt when the summer is over. Remember she hasn't even played a day of high school ball for them yet, so she can go anywhere and be eligible.

Lets see what Perry will have next season.
G- Cindy Kilburn - if she even plays. Can she handle the pressure?
G- Jessica Melton - If she can survive the summer without getting in trouble.
G - Katie Eversole - Dependable and plays hard.
F - DJ Shepherd - Improved a great deal throughout the season.
C - Paige Miller - Can she get in shape? Is she tough enough?
Others coming up.
G - Miranda Napier - Will she leave Buckhorn?
G - Whitney Back - Will she play High School basketball next year?
C - Kayla Rankin - Will Randy let her play as a 7th grader?
F - Ashley Neace - Possible Starter. Will she ever play defense?
G- Kim Campbell - Will she play????????????
I may of left out a couple players but these just come to mind. Looks like the lady Dores better work hard in the off season if they want to have any success at all. I think Randy must play Rankin in order to compete. I would probably bring up a smart player like Whitney Back as well.

Other schools bring up good 7th graders so Rankin would be a big help to a team that needs some girls that can play and score. The Back girl I think is being held back again for the 3rd time, Lord what are they thinking, but if she doesn't stay back again, she would make a great player in Randy's system too. With these two girls handling the ball, PCC would be okay but still not a powerhouse like usual.

Whitney has only stayed back one time and she just turned 13 this year. Shes a young pup and can stay back one more time if she needs to. Personally I think she is ready. She is a heck of a player. A.B. Combs has some good young players coming up and there are a couple other kids from other schools that can contribute to the cause when they enter high school. Personally I dont think these kids do enough in the off season and if they would play more over the spring and summer they may get better than some people think. Better sitting on their fannies for 6 months isnt going to help them.

There is really no might about throwing them into the mix, there are going to be a contender. Here we go again, blaming everything on a CERTAIN person bringing these girls in. Jumping to conclusions, you need to hear these girls story of why they transferred then you would know that DIDN'T HAVE to be brought in. There was a friend of mine that was really just sick of all of the rumors and all he ask was "Why did you go to Phelps?" which I'm sure they have been asked over over. Whitt simply said because *I* wanted to play ball, I wanted a good coach, I wanted a good senior year and I was miserable at Belfry. She will also plainly state to you that she WANTED to play for Vanhoose the first time she ever seen him coach against Belfry. She will tell you that she didn't have to get talked into to coming, she was going to go to Burch, but she wanted to stay in Kentucky schools because for various reasons for college. Both of these girls have both stated it was their choice and noone had to talk them into coming, all they had to do was get their parents to let them go. THEY WERE NOT RECRUITED. please let this go. I know this came from their mouth, when you actually talk to them then you can something, but until then just keep all rumors and such down.
PC would also be completely dumb to get rid of their coach, he has done nothing but brought success. Politics are a big issue, and really I believe that is how Amanda Collins/Stiltner got the job at Belfry. PC will be a strong contender no matter what, I don't know about this transfer coming in but maybe she will be some help to them. Goodluck!
Johnson Central will be the major powerhouse of the 15th region I believe.

Wow, that's a pretty BOLD statement to make. You must have some insider info.....although I would agree with your statement on the politics of Pike Co.
