Ballsy, yes, chancey, yes, but only if you are really superstitious enough to possibly think that it would lose a game. The team knew nothing about them. Besides the person that had them made did not pay so I guess they were not as worried about the waste factor(spending someone elses money is a lot easier)! I do know who designed them and actuall thought they looked sharp! What do you think?

Great Job on the shirts...you seem to be very talented....I just think that the school should have been asked or had this cleared thru one of the clubs at PHS.....I thought Paintsville had something to where to had to get permission to use there name and etc..?? Just asking ..not for sure! Also , like I said before...nice shirt...but apparently its very controversial of why,how and who...did it..but good job...maybe you should consider this as a buisness you all seem to be good at it!!!
How was money donated without it being thru a school??
good Job!! Are they going to be for sale?

That happens everywhere. I don't know about this particular situation, but there are many instances where parents go in and buy them, or the booster's get them. They don't have to be cleared through the school unless they are using school money and needing a P.O.(purchase order).

well as long as it doesn't hurt any of the other clubs and etc..that might be trying to raise money by selling shirts!!

LIke Guru said, the shirts were paid for by a business leader. (whom is a phs grad and parent) They were made for the team and coaches only. Something they could have exclusive for them and them only. They were not sold for profit. So, why would any club give a big crapola.

Controversial?? You are the one that brought it up in post 76 and the only one to wanna talk about it. Who cares. Its all about the BOYS and they love it. Get off this pony.

I didn't mean that you were the controversy...just that some people didn't understand....but once again Great job on the design ...and I care..because it is about the boys and not making others mad or making a point over past issues involving adults..... But I will officially get off the pony!!!

I don't care if Pope John Paul sent them....its about respect and not trying to undercut others!!! I understand your point and it was a great idea and good job....and very successful at that...but maybe the idea should have been submitted thru the Boosters or thru the school so it wouldn't have been just 2 people ....Also I didn't mean did you sell any....I was wondering if it was being considered..because of the shirts being nicely done!!! Learn to take a compliment...

Even if they were sold at profit, what would say 20 T-shirts cost ? Maybe about $150.00 at the very most. About the cost of a tank of gas right now..lol Hardly anything that is going to break anybody's bank if they were to not recieve any sort of profits. Sounds like a lot to do about nothing.

Mr.Kimball Wrote:No I really dont. If obsceneties were directed at him or his family I would agree, but this is not making fun of the man or anything of the sort. It's nothing more than playful jabs by kids. Just like what goes on on here. You are taking this way more serious than you need to. I dont think there is another Paintsville fan on here that seems to be offended. I would think that if someone from Paintsville wore a shirt with the same wording directed at Tommy McKenzie , all you would get out of Tommy would be a chuckle. I'm sure that BMR himself would not be offended in the least.True. It's a kid high school rivalry, nothing wrong with that. Like you, I'd be willing to bet BMR got a chuckle out of it. We adults are usually the ones that take this thing to far. I didn't see the shirts but I think I would have got a kick out of them as long as nothing derogatory was posted on them.
Man these are just kids. Leave it at that and accept it as being nothing more.

Well the shirts they wore took a jab at the Paintsville band members. Not so mutch coach Runyon. I dont think it was right to try and make fun of their band. The JCHS band derector should have had a little bit of class insted of making fun of the kids in the other band.

Well I dont think this is a shocker to anyone, closer than I thought though.

This rivalry is gettin so ridiculous and outta hand. What was the deal with both schools choirs singin the "National Anthem" before the game. We have the actual game on the floor, the battle of the bands, and NOW we have the battle of the choirs/chorus, lol, give me a break.

Were you there? I was and only heard one group sing the National Anthem. It was announced that it was the JC choir and that the same choir would be singing the Anthem at the finals of the boys Sweet 16.

I thought the ROTC group that displayed the flag were going to be at Rupp during the championship? But the JC girls done a fabulous job singing "My Old Kentucky Home" and the National Anthem. One of the main reasons I liked going to home JC football games. Not sure who the main singer is but she may have a future in the music industry.

Well, the shirts I belive were really referring to the final district game when Johnson Central's band made a heap of noise while the Paintsville basketball team's starting line ups were being announced.

Well, what happens to the shirts had JC won? lol One of my friends has a Pikeville 1991 State Champions Sweatshirt lol. (Football)

Who cares atleast that's all they have to worry about. I remember, when I was living in TN, hearing about some of the student body breaking in and spray painting the others school, and visa versa. Atleast what they are doing these days are not criminal acts. The Tiger's need to have tougher skin than that, and not be so soft. I love the Tiger's, and none of that at all bothered me, it's all in good fun, and these kids spend all year thinking up ways to intensify the rivalry and this is just one of those ways. It keeps the rivalry fresh, you wonder now what might they do next year.
