JC stayed with them till the end of the 3rd. Great game from JC and good job to paintsville, burn it up down at state. I love Johnson Centrals cheer when the fans and the cheerleaders like circle their arms and then do like the cha cha thingy...

Congrats PHS! Good luck at Rupp!

congrats Paintsville! I hope that you have a great run in the sweet 16. I wish you the best.

Congrats to the Tigers! Game was sloppy tonight, but I'm sure the Tigers were without the full use of their legs and had a little let down after the Valley win. But they did what they had to do to win and to Rupp we go!! Great job by Grimm to carry the Tigers, especially early when no one was hitting well. Shane had an awesome tourney and NO ONE deserved the MVP more!! He dominated the post against Valley and he single handedly kept the Tigers alive during the first quarter and part of the second against JCHS tonight! Good job JD on the 3's that you made just at the right times!!
Congrats to Paintsville and to Grimm and all of the other Tigers on a great tourney.
Also, congrats to JC for bringing the rest of the hardware back to Johnson County! Guess the 57th proved they were the better district this year and congrats on getting further than most thought they would get.
Good luck Tigers at State!!

Congrats Tigers! And nice play tonight from the Eagles. I saw some people from JCHS congratulating some of the Paintsville people. That was nice to see. I agree with a previous poster that JCHS pep section was totally awsome.
Best of luck to BMR and his Tigers at Rupp.

On a side note, that had to be the LONGEST parade Paintsville has ever had after winnin region. We hit the Johnson/Floyd County line at like 10:00, didn't get to the high school til like 10:45. It's only a 5 minute drive, lol. It was AWESOME...

In my lifetime I have been to alot of car parades for the Paintsville Tigers, Probably before most of you were a twinkle in most of your all's daddys eyes, and I'll have to say that was an amazing car Parade. Rates right up there in the top. . Me, My childen and another Mom had a Blast!!!!I am just so proud of our Tiger team I knew they could do it I have always believed in them and I told them whenever I saw them and I will continue to do so. So GO BIG BLUE!!!!! I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!

I think you have those prices flip flopped! I just want to congratulate JC on a great run through this tourney. Way to leave everything on the floor. We will miss you Spud and James. If you would have told me Paintsville would have had 45 points with about 3 minutes to go in the game, I though we would be in great shape. We just couldn't throw one in the ocean. Good luck to Landon, JD, Shane, and Blake at Rupp. By the way, I am sure that you will see plenty of JC people at Rupp pulling for you, and not all was rooting for SV. Just have to start something!

I have to agree ....some of the faces from JCHS once Paintsville started increasing the lead was PRICELESS...and I have to say what a way to go out...beating the cross town rival..and thorn in Paintsville's side!!!WOO-HOO
All I have to say is : should have been a TIGER ...woo-hooirateSho
But I did hate it for the JCHS basketball players..they had played their hearts out...made key/important plays and came to not let Paintsville run all over them!!So I commend them!!!

okay I just think it was horrible for Pack from Paintsville not to be included in all-tournament team??? I know the stats weren't there..but I just wish he had been given the opportunity to put some points on the board!!! But way to the fabulous FIVE that made it ...

Go read the previous posts.....from other Paintsville fans and you would understand!!! yes Paintsville earned and deserved it..but that doesn't mean that JC wasn't there to WIN and try to take it from the TIGERS!!!!I wasn't worried until the officiating became once again a challenge for the TIGERS....but like our school song says..ON,ON,PHS..we will fight for the right TONIGHT....T-I-G-E-R-S...Tigers...Tigers are the BEST:wenumber1

Grimm was MVP and it wasn't even close! Landon was the one that had a good tourney. Grimm was awesome.
03-13-2008, 09:49 AM
Its not that it was a close decision..but rather Landon was the pick for MVP before the start of the tournament ...Landon has nothing but hype following him for the 4years at PHS..But Grimm showed his abilities and talents against belfry and then again against SV.& JCHS..its hard to STOP him...he's not afraid to go to the goal....and JD was impressive last night ....putting up 18pts....

Congrats to the Tigers on an impressive season.
To my boys from JC, you have nothing to hang your heads about. We are proud of you and your run for the championship. You showed them that you weren't quitters. No one expected you to make it as far as you did but you did it and I for one am very proud of you all. Keep your heads up and gear it up for next year. Congrats Coach McKenzie on a stellar first year.....we knew you could do it.

I think I'm correct in saying that BMR's first Regional Championship came back in 1984 or 85 against JCHS and last night is the only other time that these two huge rivals have played each other in the Championship game. Kind of ironic that his first and last 15th Reg. Championships came at the expense of the Eagles.
Congrats to Paintsville! You really deserved it and have proven to be the best in the region this year. Good luck at the Sweet 16!
Despite what anyone says, a JCHS win last night would have been an upset of biblical proportions. A warning to the rest of the region.......you'd better watch out for the Eagles over the next couple of years. I think they will be pretty tough!

Just wondering Watchful Eye, if it was just as priceless as the last 3 Apple Bowl games and, last years 57th District baseball tournament game, or maybe the girls district championship game last week? I dont remember anybody from Johnson Central getting on here making these type of juvenile comments.
You are the biggest complainer about the two schools not respecting each other. The reality of it all is that you are probably the biggest instigator of trying to get some sort of stink stirred up.
Try Growing up for once!!!!!
