Pikeville beats Valley on a neutral floor and it was the refs fault. If Pikeville wins on their floor, what is it going to be that game. Pikeville wanted last nights game more than Valley did so they took it. Valley didnt play a good game and they lost. Why not leave it at that?I think that most people like myself that didnt see the game looks at the one thing that stands out. 24-3 freethrows. Maybe it was just coincedence but it doesnt look good...

I think most of the fouls called on Pikeville were non-shooting fouls where as the fouls on Shelby Valley were shooting fouls. But Elisha has the quickest hands I've ever seen!! He gets a ton of steals. I think another turning point was when Valley had an in bound and Byrant threw it to someone not paying attention and a Pikeville player took it to the other end and Pikeville scored.

Now why doesn't that suprise us? Pikeville has had to play the team plus the zebras on the court everytime we've went there.

Just thought I'd throw this in there with under 4 remaining in Lexington SC has yet to shoot a free-throw, why? They are settling for the three.

It's kind of hard to blame all of Pikeville's losses on the refs since they have only won twice against Shelby Valley on any court since 2000. So what's the excuse for all the games away from Shelby Valley?
Fact is, Pikeville won this game because they wanted it more. The FT differential sounds peculiar but Shelby Valley in my mind and in most people's minds is still the better team of the two.
Pikeville had to win sometime, considering this two play at least 4 times a year now for a couple straight years. Shelby Valley will be ready next time, and in my opinion we'll see a different outcome.

Saw the same stat and you are right. It is VERY difficult to get to the line when you are cranking it up fro 20' out. When SV did take it to the rim there were fouls called. But, Pike was fouling them before the shot by grabbing and blocking.

Again, people keep insinuating that Valley didn't come to play. There has been a virus going thru the team and Elisha was so sick that he had to go to the hospital and have an IV because he was so dehydrated from throwing up so much! The Cats weren't playing up to their best potential but you have to look at all of the circumstances! Also, statistics state that the team that goes to the free throw line the most, wins 85% of the time and statistics proved right on this one since Pikeville went twenty plus more times than Valley's three. They are not a perfect team because there is no such thing, but these are great kids, the majority make excellent grades, go to church, and show a lot of class for their age. I get very offended when people talk about them as if they are adults when they are only children and they always give 110%. They have an awesome coach that repeatedly tells them to get their priorities straight in life - God first, family-second, education-third, and ball-fourth. I wish people would give them the respect they deserve. They have heart and they love to play ball and win or lose they will always be winners in God's eyes!
I am not trying to take anything away from Pikeville, they played an awesome game and the coaches did a great job! Congratulations and good luck tonight! I hope you win!

On this free throw topic.... Did anyone hear stats from the UK game.... SC shot 3 free throws all game, UK 24.... was that a poorly officiated game or was it the fact that SC plays from the outside? For the record, the radio announcers even noted that it was because SC didn't take it inside.... just making a point!

Sorry about the above, I didn't realize that someone had already mentioned it!

How many fouls were called on each team? That should show a little more than the number of FT that were shot.

Buddy I'll give you the names of the cheerleaders if you'd like to ask them if they were spat on, there was a nice bulletin on myspace about the spit accident, and several fans told me they were telling the cops last night that our girls were spat on and all the cops said was "Let us do our job", Valley can't get any love outside of Robinson Creek, and that's not hard to see.
I also never said anyone was PURPOSELY spat on.

They should've put the Pikeville cheerleaders under the Pikeville Pep section and this wouldn't have been a problem. Intentional or not, let them spit on their own if they are going to spit. And if not, at least they won't be spitting on another school's cheerleaders.

The best team always wins on the night they play. And last night was Pikeville's night. Maybe SV's next time. But I think that this is a great post and one of the best that I have seen from a SV poster on this site!! Most of the other SV posters just hype up their team to national powerhouse status or either make excuses for their losses. SV is a very good team but they aren't always the best. No team is for that matter.

Really, I watched what I said, and I never said it was done purposely did I?
Two girls were spat on, it wasn't water, it didn't dry, it had to be wiped off, it was spit, and that's absolutely disgusting and pathetic of whoever did it.

Nope, in high school, and these were my friends who were spat on.

IMO it should just be dropped until there is concrete proof that it was done intentionally. Before this thread is closed. Right now the same info is being posted again and again so just cool it unless some actual proof is come upon.

Reguardless, you need to learn that there are some things that don't need to be posted on here. And this lil situation is another one you can add to your childish list.
