Good guy. It's going to be a challenge though. The community is going to have to be patient and realize it is not the mid/late 1990's anymore. He is a Marshall guy, but we can't hold that against him! It could have been worse, he could have been from UK or Louisville!!! YUK!
#6
Sammons is an in your face motivator, something these kids need.
#7
Yea just to clear this all up he was offered and took the job but it wont be official until the BOE meeting.

He was my strength trainer at Tolsia and the guy motivated me like crazy. I've never really got anything out of working hard but he really had my attitude to where I wanted to work hard. This guy can turn the program around.
#13
Yea!!!! This is a great way to start my day. I was hoping he would get the job. Great guy, great coach and the kids love him!
#14

#18
This is great news! He has a lot of work ahead but I definitely think he's the man who can handle it.
#19
Anyone know what his views are on the offense and defensive sides of the ball?
#20
id say he will still stick with the spread offense and run the zone, and i talked to him they other day that he wants run the 3-3-5 defense he said he is gonna try to cause as much trouble as he can with the blitzing and stunting so it will be fun to watch and see how he does this year Lawrence County

Good hire for Lawrence Co.
#22
Congrats and Good Luck! It's amazing what heart, patience and support can do!
#23
good luck coach!!!!!
#24
Congrats to Coach Salmons and I am looking forward to him bringing back the tradition of hard nose football at LC.

Remember fans give him a couple of years to get it turned around.

Good luck coach and welcome to the Family . I hope you get the support from the upper administration and all the fans . I know you will have the fan support for at least the first few games but if things don't go just right these same fans that say they love you will turn like a rattler. But most will give time and support you in the good and the BAD times . I hope you keep coach preece on the staff . Along with Coach Ceicl and Dixion and Caudill. And it will be your call if you clean up the side lines with rest. I feel like you still have a lot of talent coming back for next season . But IMO your biggest job is going to be getting in the halls of LC and getting some of the great talent to come out and play football. Your first schdule is going to be another tough one so that alone will start an up hill battle for you and your new Dawg family but I feel you can get them up to the test . So get them kids in the wieght room and start working on 08 because I feel the games are really won in the off season with hard work. But some how try and make it fun for them if possible. GO DAWGS.And remember Coach. :theman:

Actually the spelling is SALMONS. I think he is going to do a tremendous job. I would also like to say that I will miss the Goldsmith family. I'm hoping that they will stay and let their son finish school at Lawrence. He is a wonderful kid with much more to offer to the county besides his athletic ability on the field and court. He's the type of kid that you are proud to have represent your school. His family and him will surely be missed...if they leave.

very good guy this will be a strong football team he is a great motivator. This was a great hire

There are some incoming freshmen kids that only lost 3 or 4 games all through league football but never played middle school ball. Some of these kids are very good players and need to be recruited.

I agree, there is a TON of talent coming up for LC football in the next couple of years. I mean a TON of talent.
