Sounds good, kind of wondering about Elliott Co. over Shelby Valley.

I agree, they would put a whoopin on them.

I don't know about going that far, but they sure looked better last year at Rupp against Shelby Valley. Both teams brought everything back and have surely improved but we'll never know.
but "blackcatfootball" Elliot County swept the #1 votes across the board so there wasn't much drama there.
Shelby Valley, Elliot County, and JBS are clearly the 3 best teams in EKY. But it will be interesting to see how the rankings change throughout the year.

I think Paintsville is better than Hazard.

Did you come up with those yourself Al?? What a joke...Paintsville does not deserve top 5 consideration.

That central/metro region is tough. A lot of good teams in this region.

Not right now, but as the season progresses, I'm sure that there name will be brought up.

If...Then Wrote:is Pikeville close?I place Pikeville as the number two in the 15th region behind Shelby Valley. Paintsville will slowly fall.

paintsville will kill pikeville,And play shelby valley a close game

I agree with putting Elliot over Valley for now. After all, they did beat them last year at state.
However, no way would they run them out of the gym. SV is way too good for that to happen.

I don't agree with this statement. I believe Shelby Valley could beat Elliot County or at least keep it within single digits. Elliot County is good, but I don't think that there 10+ points better than Shelby Valley.

They don't play in the regular season so there is no way to prove it. But right now Elliott is averaging 104 points a game and giving up 52 a game. There is no way to prove it but I will stick with my opinion. I don't think anybody in the eastis even close. We should get a good idea when SV plays Ashland tonight.

I understand, but I hope the Wildcats prove to some of those teams up north that they are the real deal.

Paintsville defeated Elliot County last year in the All-A classic, and both teams return the majority of their key players, so I think both belong in the top 5 along with JBS and SV.

Shelby Valley also returns all 5 starters, as well as their 6th man off the bench. So it stands to reason that both teams should be improved from last year.
Again, I agree that Elliot should be ahead of them but the difference isn't that great. If they met again, Valley would have a decent shot to win the game.

I'm gonna have to move paintsville up to abt 2 maybe 1. They're a very experienced well rounded team

Makes no sense to not see Lexington Catholic or Bryan Station on the Central..... Catholic has only beat the #6 ranked team in the nation...... and then I think they just put one on June Buchanan....

With any refs other than the ones at Rupp last year, Valley would have beaten Elliot.
Now this year, that's another story, Ashley has not been feeling well, his back isn't 100% yet, but Jonah and Tyler Newsome are ready to step up and put in minutes if he is feeling down. Valley would definitely give Elliot all they wanted and more. Someone said Elliot is averaging giving up about 52 points a game. Valley is scoring around 80 a game with their subs playing the last quarter in about every game. Elliot and Valley would be a very good game, I think they could meet in the All "A" State tournament, as could either one of these meet JBS there too, if all 3 make it to state in the All "A", it will be a very interesting tournament.
