From what I know Powell is out of the playoffs.

powell is not out of playoffs as of now. also they do not have and ego. they are a hard working team that is finally playing some good football. so, save the sacrasm for a team that deserves it.

Breathitt 2-0
Estill 2-1
Fleming 1-2
Cawood 1-1
Powell 0-2
Those Are The District Records As Of Now For The Five Teams In Powells District...

Breathitt- 2-0 def. Estill and Cawood
Cawood- 1-1 def. Fleming and lost to Breathitt
Estill- 2-1 def. Powell / Fleming and lost to Breathitt
Fleming 1-2 def. Powell lost to Cawood and Estill
Powell 0-2 lost to Estill and Fleming
Breathitt still has to play Fleming and Powell. Will win out and be #1 seed
Cawood has yet to play Powell and Estill
Estill has yet to play Cawood
Fleming has yet to play Breathitt
Powell has yet to play Cawood and Breathitt
Breathitt is an almost lock for #1
#2 and #3 are up for grabs between Cawood and Estill (unless Powell Beats Cawood)
#4 goest to Fleming.
This is the way it looks to be shaping up. Don't think that anything is being overlooked. Someone please chime in if there are any flies in the ointment.

Powell would still be alive if Estill were to beat Cawood and Powell also beating Cawood. Which would put Fleming, Cawood, and Powell all at 1-3. (Then it would go the the mathmatically challenging 3 way tie breaker system), and the #4 would be awarded by points. But if Cawood beats Estill that would mathmatically eliminate Powell cause Cawood would be 2-2, along with Estill, with Powell and Fleming at 3-1, (assuming Powell were to beat Cawood), but the tie breaker going to Fleming because of their head to head victory over Powell. All of these hypotheticals are with the assumption that Breathitt will win out in their last 2 dist. games vs. Powell and Fleming. Which most would agree is a pretty safe assumption. But games are not played on the internet or on paper, so who knows what will happen?

It's good to know that some people can pick up on sarcasm...oh, and about the ego thing...those with egos are usually the first to deny that they have an ego...but I tell you what...I'd love for you to prove me wrong by getting your team to back up all of their talk...I might even be a PC fan if they could walk the walk...give it a shot!

Congrats to Powell! Keep working hard.

I haven't seen Powell play much this year, so I don't know about any ego problem they may have. However, I think their coaches understand that they are in a rebuilding process and I find it hard to believe that they would have an ego problem considering the uphill climb they have faced this year. Just an opinion though.

Seems like you take our job seriously as well or at least you try to do it. But it is not your job so leave it to us.

Were thatRBfromCALI still a player, he would most definitely agree with you. But, as he is now simply "just another spectator," arguing about Powell seems to be the best thing to do. Thanks for the concern, though.

The ego issue doesn't lie with the coaching staff...although GetumChoppin' can be as childish as the players...If Powell was as good at playing football as they are about talking about how good they think they are, then the state champs prediction might be true...and apparently now it's not just the players, but the band is talking smack too...PCHSPepBandHorn, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but your football knowledge is lacking...Look Powell, you've got potential, and some talent...just remember this...It is better to remain silent and let people think you are foolish, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt! Let your play do the talking, and the players need to keep from posting on here...the heat of the moment causes you to say things and guarantee things that might be out of your control. You want to be class-acts...prove it by walking the walk on the field and staying off here...it'll help, I promise

You know "poker", I couldn't agree with you more. You are very wise grasshopper!..lol.....No Really, It is true. These kids get on here and write checks that their little behinds can't cash. Walk the walk and then, maybe then, you can talk the talk.....peace

i may not know much about football, but i do know just about every player on that team, i know how they work... i don't think you have any right downing the band or any of its members when they come out every friday home game and support their team... and if i remember correctly, i said that you have to give the team time to improve? it will take time but it never hurts to have confidence in yourself, or, in this case, for your countys team... the best team can have a bad week... we all have confidence in our boys and if a few on the team would quit trying to be the hero and the one man show we could do better than we are...
10-01-2007, 11:11 PM
oh and another thing... no one knows what will happen on the field... not all of us are saying that powell is going to go stomping other teams butts in the ground... so keep that in mind when you are telling all of us to keep our mouths shut... and tell that to the other teams that try to have confidence in themselves and when no one has that anymore, then half the state won't have football teams because there is no heart in it anymore

i agree, but i also understand why players get on here and talk as much as they do. it's tough to let people talk down about your team, or even you as a player, without any form of retaliation. i think players just get caught up in the heat of the moment and lose focus on the most important thing - being a good, smart, loyal teammate.

What are you saying about the one man show? The players run what the coach calls. It isn't like the players get in the huddle and make up their own plays. I wish some of the other players had the heart and determination as the so called "one man show". He plays harder than anyone!!!!!!!! I think we know who you are refering to!!! He doesn't happen to play QB,RB,LB, & any other position on the field does he? If so, that boy is a warrior. He only comes off at the end of the game. So make sure you know what your talking about before you turn your computer on and start typing random thoughts. P.S. I feel much better now......:flame:

i know what i'm talking about... i am dating one of the football players... and no they don't always run what coach tells them to... why would your coach tell you to hand the ball off and run down the middle 3 plays in a row and lose more yards than you gain... i like both of our qb's but there have been times when we had people standing open in the inzone and instead of passing it when they had a chance they run it instead and get knocked down... and its not just me that feels like that about the one man show... every one in the stands at the game friday even said it and 80 year old people that hadn't been to a game all year could see this by the end of the first quarter... everyone in powell county knows it, but no one is brave enough to step up and fix it
