Clark Stepp's College Choices?

What would be the point, its an opinion. No need to comment any farther. I said my part and thats it.

He will end up at a good school but he will not play DI I don't believe. Just trying to be realistic here.
You are crazy if you think there is 4 or 5 players better than Clark in the 14th. Im not from the 14th region but I hope Stepp beats the crap out of everybody in that region, (just like last year) and he shuts you guys up. And further more if he is getting exposure because who his family is then kudos to the Stepp family they are doing a great job getting their boy a scholarship. GET OVER IT FOLKS, HE IS THE BEST YOU HAVE IN THE 14TH.

He already has the presence to drive and find the open man, he has the talent at handeling the ball under pressure and can break the press fairly easily. He has all the tools to be a dynamic player. In college PG are not looked on to be a consistent out side jump shooter, they are looked to penetrate and to break down the defence to get their team involved something that Clark is very capable. It is all based upon the style of play a coach is going for. We already know that his mid range jump shot is great he can pull up and nail a shot from just about any where. He doesn't care to take a big man one on one to the goal, that is what any one at the NAIA level needs. Name me one player from the mountains who had a good outside shot that was a dynamic guard at the NAIA level. One that I can name that was a great shot from outside in high school was Brad Lowe but he found out quickly that to be a player who was going to b a threat he had to penetrate and get his team involved rather than being a one man show.
well thats your opinion.. but you cant penetrate on someone if they dont respect your outside shot ... now you might penetrate here in the 14th were nobody playes any defense but you wont penetrate at any level of college basketball including naia dII if you cant shoot consistantly from the outside. Now dont go and say well look at Rondo because their is an obvious difference in speed and ability between Clark Stepp and Rajon Rondo. I do think Clark is a very good high school player, He will never play on a big time or even mid major division I team that he doesnt have to walk on to the team. People all over the mountains get letters and calls and small looks from dI colleges every year they just dont brag and talk about it as much as the stepps do and thats a fact. And then you got a complete idiot like Fields in the Lexington Hereald leader gets in the paper and blows these stepps up ... for example saying that over the summer circuit Clint Stepp hit 30 out of 50 3's in one stretch. That is a ballface lie, he didnt watch jbs he is taking papa joe at his word and that is just not the truth. Why dont we get on here and blow up the kid from Ashland Rose hill for commiting to Uk now that is a real achievment. But no we get on here and blow up Clark Stepp, how about we blow up a tate cox... that pooor kid has to play on a team were the coaches wont go out of their way to get him any pub. and they are advertising clark and clint like the circus. If there are any kids who have real college potential on Jbs team its cox and collins. i would love to know how much money it took for fields to write that in the paper.

I dont see why everyone wants to keep hating on this kid, but in my opinion you guys on hear hating on him are giving him more press and notority than his family ever could.

lol i love reading your posts they make me laugh to be honest but not out of disrespect. I agree many do make the Stepps and Cox to look better than they truly are. Also Fields is an idiot and never has a clue to anything lmao. But, I think Stepp has the capabilites to go some where better than ALC but thats just what I think. IF Stepp improves that outside jump shot then you have to admit he will be something special at the next level. You also I have to look at this Stepp will work very well coming off of screens then being able to penetrate and to get open for a mid range jump shot. Its not just all about being a spot shooter or being able to pull up from outside. He is one of the best in the mountains for shooting with a hand in his face that is what makes this kid special. He has a mind for the game and you can not take that away from him I don't care who you are.

ALC bound.....then JBS will shut down, ALC will move into the mid-south and money will be pumped back into the program again.

i do agree if he would shoot the ball well he could play at the next level but he would still just be a role player at the next level. 6'2 175 pound guards at the division I level can light it up such as the boy from florida, micheal porter... and trust me clark is not even in the same league athletically as those guys. I hate to down the boy but when you watch a kid get his career fabricated by his uncles and father into the hall of fame type career with numbers that will last a long time .... and that dont even try to help cox get one bit of attention it just makes me feel hostility towards the stepps. Clark would be a really solid possibly good player at the naia level.
#38
i think fields should be fired for not knowing anything about what he writes. Its a joke 99% of the people on the site know more high school basketball than fields
#39
anytime someone from the mountains gets a chance for a college education and a basketball scholarship to help pay for it that is great. best of luck

He can not play defense, he can not shoot, he will not be able to penetrate defenses at a D1 level with good athletes like he can in the 14th. Bottom line, he does not have what it takes to play D1. Will he play? Probalby, because Joe will find a way. Will he be back at Alice Lloyd? YES. Did you ever see Clark playing defrense against the opponents best player last year? NO. He can't play it. Get over Stepp fans, he will never play D1.:lmao:

Congrats Clark, hope your future is a bright one.

Hopefully, Clark will chose a school that fits his abilities. Whether it be a big school or small. Best of Luck! I can,t believe some of you. Be Happy for a kid!

If he picks a school that fits his abilities It will be ALC. Only because its daddys school. He is a complete headcase and will never be able to compete outside the Stepp protective safety zone. All this talk of schools interested will fade and ALC will be his choice.

Without a football program, ALC will never join the mid south conference. Football will never happen at ALC because there is a lady, not sure of her name, who gives money to the school every year and her sone died from injuries sustained from football, and she has said in the past if the school starts a football program she will no longer donate to the school. Besides a school that doesnt offer athletic scholarships can never compete in football.
#45
buddy i dont know who feeds you ur info but that you just said is majorly bogus... everybody knows that the lady who donates money to not have a football team is a big tale its not true

And if he does are you going to get on here and apologize and admit you don't know what your talking about?
Let me guess, no
You'll be on to bashing the younger stepp kid
You have no credibility

Headcase is kids who couldn't play dead in a cowboy movie on the basketball team at JBS
and blaming it on a kid that will play d-1 and convincing themselves they got screwed!
Are you going to be saying his family got his d-1 scholarship when it comes?
Grow up and get over it!

Guys...Stay on topic and cool it with personal attacks on each other.

Kid? He will be a 20 year old Fr. in college.

I know for a fact thats true because my dad was on the board of trustees there for over 25 years, before leaving in 04, and that is not bogus. The lady was from over around Beckley WV. But like JJ said we need to stay on the topic so I will rest my case.

It would be wonderful to see a kid from Eastern Kentucky playing D-1. Good Luck Clark

Very True, couldnt say it better myself. The more I get on here and read the more I understand how City people think we Hillbilles are dumb. Stepp will not make D1

If Brandon Stockton can win Mr Basketball and play at UK, then IMO anything is possible. Carrier and Stockton are probably the 2 weakest Mr Basketballs to ever come out of this state and they both wore the Blue and White so hell guys anything is possible. Just quit dogging this kid and get behind him. Mountain folk need to stick together.

Survivor Wrote:He's Alice Lloyd bound. I would bet a million bucks!! Just wait and see. He DOES NOT have the skills, defensive ability or the shooting ability to play D1. Who wants a kid at the D1 level that has the ugliest jump shot east of the Mississippi? Certainly not Mississippi.

He wont go to ALC, I would bet a million on that. And I don't see why he should when he is capable of playing at any other college. And who cares what the jump shot looks like as long as it goes thru the net.

Every post is the same in this entire thread! I wish him the best of luck! I am not a big Clark Stepp fan either, but everyone hates a winner, and I would say that Clark has beaten your team and dropped 35 or more on ya is the very reason that there are so many negative comments on this kid! You think Clark gets on here and reads this, and if he does, do you think it is going to affect his game. NO, he thrives off of negative talk as any good player does! Just like Dale Earnhardt once said, if people aren't booing or talking about ya, then your not doing something good! Best of Luck Clark!
