Who's seen Donnie Darko?
#1
I just saw it for the first time tonight and I must say it is AMAZING!!!

Has anyone else on here seen it?
#2
I never watched it. It didn't strike me as a movie that would be any good by the previews.
#3
It's an amazing story.
#4
The most overrated movie of all time.
#5
Why's that? I hadn't even heard of it until last night when a friend brought it over.
#6
At Pike Central the people there worship that movie. They treat it like it is the best movie ever made. I liked it, it was O.K. but it gets way too much hype.
#7
Hm, that's strange, I had never heard of it, or even remember seeing previews for it. It came out in 2001 I think.
#8
I love that movie. No one realy at PC worships that movie truely the only ppl that watch it is like the ppl i hang with and that being like 10 ppl. Everyone else realy hasnt watched it. Its a classic movie and if you do not like to ponder on paradox worlds and such then you will never get it nor will u like it.
#9
I really liked it. I think Jake Gyllenhaul does a great job in it.
#10
I have watched the movies millions of time, I was one of the main people at pike central to get this movie started, a friend introduced me too it, and after about a mont of so...people were pissing me off by talking about this movie constanly, yes CNN people worship it, it is a great movie dont get me wrong, but dear god people....most people doesnt even know what its about.
pffft

besides Fight Club is a better movie
#11
Fight Club is a great movie F2F by the way i have urs lol i need to get that back to u hahahahaha.
#12
I use too like Donnie Darko, and A Clockwork Orange, Napoleon Dynamite, Pulp Fiction, Pi, Fight Club, Se7en, Boondock Saints but people take them way to far and hype them up so much that I begin to hate them. They are just movies
#13
I don't think Pike Central can be considered a majority of the population. Hardly anyone here at UK has heard of Donnie Darko and it's rare to find someone who's seen Boondock Saints.
#14
I have seen it several times and loved it.
I feel Butterfly efect is a poor attempt at the same story.
Where I work the movie is viewed as a classic.
Mad World is one of the things that I love about the movie. Most people don't get it the first time that it's the story of the sacrifice that one will make for those they love.
Godfather its a cult classic
Is cut corners still open down by campus just north of Kennedy bookstore before you get to the Mickey D's?
#15
Don't even know what you're talking about???
#16
I havent seen this movie.
#17
Well GF when I attended the UK we had a music video store called cut corners and the record celler it was between K bookstore and the Mcdonalds.
they had the best movies in town to rent
and from what I have seen your taste for films for sure.
There was another shop there called bears wax
near the U club
#18
Oh, well, no need for that now. We can rent movies for free and have them delivered to our dorms.
#19
never heard of this movie...
#20
But these are not movies you will find at a blockbuster. LOL
#21
How do you get movies for free GF?
#22
never heard of it
#23
4L, It was in the Kernal wednesday. There's a site you can go to and rent movies for free. I don't have it here with me in Pikeville though.

Dude, no...thats the smallest thing its trying to get out..if you recall in the movie he was not a beliver in god, if you can recall him talking...you can only travel threw time threw "god channel".
God was trying to show him everything it would be like with him there, was trying to save him. "every living creature on earth dies alone" rember this?
You gotta conclude and finish this sentence, "every living creature on earth dies alone, unless you belive in god"
Its tryign to prove that god is real...god showed him eveything needed to see, god woke him up in the middle of the night and go him to come outside to meet "Frank"

He gave him a choice, be alive and see all this shit happen to you, or just accept me and join me.

Which is why at the end he said "you have so much more to look forward to" then started laughing, because he knew he wasent alone anymore, he knew what he wanted to do.
He traveled back threw god channel back to this house and ended it all.

The End.

Watch the movie again, you will see what im talking about...you gotta really pay attenetion.
#25
lol u summed that up very nicely F2F lol
#26
Yeah, you just clarified the story a little better for me F2F. Nice.
#27
Could be the worst movie of all times I like attack of the killer tomatoes just as good, that where i would rank it.
#28
I think I may rent this now that I have heard of it. Someone mentioned it was like Butterfly Effect. Is this right?
